But Le Bouchon is open and is just right for an economical and homelike bite: it's a wine shop (good selection) with a few tables and a 12 euro menu. A tiny corner-stove behind a tiny bar does daily specials to order. Choices necessarily limited. We had starter salads (not much greenery but a lot of charcuterie ), and both mains on the board (poulet roti and tripe a la mode de Caen). Delicious. The 50 cl pichet was filled from a labelled bottle (a Touraine red) and was priced at only ten euros ( note that most house wines come from an anonymous source and are often pure plonck. Recommended.
