Saigon Palace opened in mid…read moreAugust, and while the owner is Vietnamese, the food is more of a "pan-Asian" variety common in this part of France. That is, some distinctly Vietnamese dishes, but others distinctly Chinese. Others ... not sure. Saigon Palace is a buffet restaurant (all you can eat, or "à volonté") with Saturday day and most evenings price of 18 Euro / person. I think the weekday lunch price was about 12 Euro. We were one of 2 tables of customers during a recent Saturday lunch. The food seemed fresh and the variety was sufficient. If you don't like what is already prepared on the buffet, you have the option of selecting raw meats, fish, and vegetables, and the cook will "wok" it for you -- so that reminds me more of a Mongolian bbq. There were several varieties of sauces you could add (sweet & sour, spicy, etc.). I was happy to see fresh Vietnamese spring rolls and Chinese "har gow" on the buffet. While I cannot say the food was especially memorable or interesting, Saigon Palace deserves a special mention for being one of the rare (rare) Asian restaurants in the Creuse / Correze Department(s) of France.
