This was our most memorable meal in Barcelona. We sat at the bar and just kept ordering dishes because the food is just that good. We had the croquettes (mix of different meats), the chicken and fig, the cod, the ribs, and the almond flour chocolate cake and pistachio ice cream. Everything literally melted in our mouths and it was so rich. I can't even think of my favorite dish, but I'll say that the croquettes and the chicken are must-orders. The place is also really cool. The ambiance is low-key, modern, and welcoming, filled with locals. There were two people running the place and they were quite friendly. This is a hidden gem for Catalan food. Definitely make a reservation and go on your trip to Barcelona.

Was honestly the best meal I have had in Barcelona. It is a very low key environment where I was not even sure if it was open walking up because it was so understated. They have a bar area and formal dining area. It is a bit off the beaten path so it wasnt overrun by tourists as it isnt close to any major attractions. But it is a quick 5-10 walk from the city centre of downtown. The service was great, the server and owner were very friendly, accommodating, explained all the food they were serving. I got the tasting menu which was 42 euros and included a seasonal appetizer, wine/water, and 5 food items. Easily could be paying 12-15 euros per dish at another place given the quality of the main items like seabass and braised lamb that took 24 hrs to prepare. This is a hidden gem in the city . You will not regret coming here

Items Selected: Americano Warm Bread House Charcuterie, Pan con Tomate Botifarra Negra, Fried Eggs Cod, Spinach, Pine Nuts Unfortunately finding Can Ros closed for a two-week vacation, parking already paid for no doubt making it more opportune to grab something nearby than to walk for more highly regarded food, it was setting aside convenience that two guests made the fifteen minute trek on foot to La Pubilla for Breakfast on the first morning in Barcelona. Said by many to be one of the best restaurants for casual Catalan cooking in the city, a location on Plaça de la Llibertat making the Restaurant a locals-only sort of place with no Spanish or English menus furthering that point, it was just past 09h00 that a seat was found inside the cozy confines and thanks to a one bilingual server it was not long before an order was placed, the menu entirely savory and offered six days a week from 08h30 until Midnight. Visiting during an early hour filled with deliveries, the Beverage distributor creating quite a bit of noise as he placed several bottles of Booze and Water in a small cupboard across the way, it was with one of those bottles as well as two bitter Americanos that the meal got started, a basket of warm Sourdough that looked to have been made in-house actually quite impressive with a great Crust for such a small place as was the Tomato and Olive Oil brushed Bread served with a collection of Charcuterie including two types of dried Sausage brought in from elsewhere plus three housemade varieties ranging from a spicy red Meat laced with Cartilage to some pretty funky Headcheese. Priced much lower than almost anywhere in town for the portion sizes and quality, a plate of rich Blood Sausage and two fried Eggs only €6.50 with nothing on the menu over €10 it was after another ten minutes that a sizable filet of Cod was delivered alongside even more bread, the line-caught Fish meaty and supple atop a bed of Spinach, Olive Oil and toasty Pine Nuts.

La Pubilla was the best meal we had in Barcelona! They don't speak much English, it is a neighborhood gem in Gracia. They are full every day for lunch, so always call to make a reservation first. We called morning of, and got a 1:30 reservation (their first table time). It is lunch only, and a $14 euro three course meal. There is also an option for a 'fancier' entree for $17 euro. All meals come with a free glass of wine! The food was spectacular. We also had a vegetarian and they made everything for her veggie friendly. She LOVED it just as much as the meat eaters. We had soup or pasta as our appetizer, hamburger as an entree and apple tart or ice cream as dessert. I'm not describing the food as well as I should because it was spectacular. The seasoning was perfect, the flavors were exciting. As an American who speaks little catalan, we were taking a risk with the menu and we were so happy we did. We had no idea what to expect after we ordered and it was all phenomenal. Of note: Takes credit card, reservations REQUIRED

Leeks, smoked salmon and eggs for appetizer

Without doubt, this place deserves a 5 star rating from me. I came here for two consecutive days so you can imagine how good the menu was that makes you keep coming back for more. To book for a table, you need to call them for reservations and there's usually 3 timings: 1315, 1415 and 1515. So basically, you only have an hour to finish 3 courses before the customers for the next seating arrives. Otherwise, without reservation, you could also try your luck for bar seats which they reserve for walk-ins. They serve a 3 course menu del dia (appetiser, main and dessert) inclusive of one beverage (wine/beer/any other) for 15euros and I swear, for the quality of the food it is worth every penny. I started with leeks and smoked salmon for my appetiser. The leeks were perfectly grilled, smooth on the inside and the salmon goes so well with it. As for my main, I've chosen the lamb with sweet potato puree and soft mato cheese on top. Hands down, this is the highlight of the whole meal itself. The lamb was braised perfectly, tender on the inside and rich in flavour. The soft mato cheese on top neutralised the flavours of the lamb and the puree. What I like about here is that they're not packed with tourists and I get to talk to my neighbours on both days and realised most of them are return customers. Also, they change their menu according to the availability in the market everyday so you can be assured that they use nothing but fresh ingredients! They're very innovative with their menu so expect dishes with interesting combinations that you've probably never tried before in your trip. The service is super fast, attentive and the staff speaks good english! I had a good experience and would definitely recommend this place!

They're light, buttery, and filled with just the right amount of cream, truly irresistible. And if you're a chocolate lover, their chocolate version is equally divine (you might just need to get both, trust me). But my absolute favorite treat here is the pan dulce con manzana. The buttery layers, the delicate apple slices caramelized just right, and the subtle sweetness make it the perfect pastry. Pair it with a strong espresso and you've got the ideal way to start your morning in Barcelona. The best part? You don't have to stop at breakfast. I always recommend grabbing one of their fresh bocadillos en pan casero to enjoy later in the day, or picking up one of their panes artesanos to savor at home, simple, rustic, and delicious even on their own. Forn Puiggròs isn't just a bakery, it's a ritual. Go in the morning, enjoy something sweet with your coffee, and leave with bread that will make the rest of your day even better.

There were six of us, so we kind of caught them by surprise, but the staff didn't miss a beat. They took good care of us with friendly and efficient service. The pastries were absolutely delicious, and the cappuccinos were spot on--just the perfect start to the day. Overall, Forn is a great little spot near Sagrada Familia for breakfast, and I recommend it if you're in the area.
