    Tamale covered in sour cream

I ordered two tamales. But they served them on a plate COVERED in sour cream. It was so much that I had to scoop it off. They usually just serve it to me in a to go bag without sour cream but today, they for some reason drenched it in sour cream. It kind of seems like it was done on purpose so I wouldn't come back. This experience put a bad taste in my mouth.

Love this place for tacos! Today is taco Tuesday where el pastor tacos are 50 % off! My boyfriend loves the el pastor tacos . I love the quesabirria... nice chunks of stewed beef and crunch taco shell. Today was not as crunchy as before but still delicious.

Their horchata is very strong on its flavor and not watery at all! Which is an A+ !! Their menu prices are also very decent as it sounds reasonable for the items. I ordered a quesadilla with birria meat and it was honestly exactly as I had expected it to be. Nothing too fancy but hit the spot. One thing though that kind put me off the mood on the quesadilla was that i had a WHOLE BAY LEAF ! And took a bite and ate it sadly as i didnt notice till i was half into the bay leaf! Lol. Im Glad they season well although please make sure this does not happen again to any other customers ! :) besides that customer service was amazing and the wait time was no longer than 5 minutes.

La Plaza is a small Mexican market located on a pretty busy crossing in Mountain View. We have driven by for years, but needed some chiptoles in adobo we stopped on in First off there is plenty of parking. There as many have noted is a lot across the street. It has a decent selection of sundry items, plus what you would normally expect from any supermarket. Most importantly for us, It had our chiptoles. It has a pretty extensive butcher shop and a small but well stocked fresh section. We did not try the colocated eatery but will be back for sure

Taco Tuesday, Carnitas... this Mexican market is the real deal. Love the food & ambiance

I like coming here for the tacos. Especially taco tuesdays or any time they have a special deal. The other day happened to be National Taco Day where they had a special on tacos for $1.25. A pretty great deal when you can feed two people for $10 dollars. I have never been inside the supermarket but one day, I would like to wander in and browse around.

My first visit since it was Mi Pueblo. Window person wore a mask. I only ordered the Al Pastor street tacos. They were great! He even put the salsa on the side for my son. If the other items are as good, I'll raise the rating. Things were clean inside in the market too, but I didn't need anything. Next time I'll bring my shopping list. Has anyone tried the seasoned carne asada meat?

We only picked out a stable: American wagyu. The meat looked pretty good with marble through out. Surprisingly when put in hot pot it shrinks into a wrinkly ball and also turned black. I have never seen a meat like that (also we only buy hot pot meat at Nijya and their quality is great). Taste wise the meat was quite tough and stringy and has a gamy metallic after taste. In the pictures the kighter hotpot meat is from costco and the black ones is from Meat House. Costco one tasted much better. At this point im not even upset about the money spent just upset that our hot pot night was kind of ruined. Service is ok. Kind of straight forward. You picked the meat and pay and leave. This one was disappointing enough to feel worth documenting. My boyfriend and I ended up here after attempting to go to Treehouse nearby (which had an hour wait--unsurprising given the concept). This restaurant was a short walk away, which actually worked out well given how congested the area was, and we walked in optimistic. The space itself is very large, but nearly empty for a weekday evening. It felt family-owned and casual, which I usually love--many of my favorite restaurants fall into that category. Unfortunately, the experience didn't reflect that warmth. We were given a different menu than other diners, which immediately felt odd. Service wasn't overtly rude, but it was noticeably unwelcoming--almost a "why are you here?" tone rather than hospitality. We ordered hummus and feta, both of which were surprisingly expensive for the portion and quality. We were told bread would arrive automatically with the hummus, but it didn't--despite asking multiple times. When it finally arrived, it was poorly cooked and no longer served any purpose, as we were already well into the meal. Despite the restaurant being far from busy, our mains took about 30 minutes. One dish--a kebab--was fine but very forgettable for a $30+ price point. My dish, dumplings in a yogurt-based sauce, was honestly inedible. I left it untouched and mentioned that it didn't taste good. The response was simply, "Oh, so you don't want a box?" No attempt to fix the issue or even acknowledge it. What sealed it for me was the overall condition of the place. Dirty cutlery, a generally rundown interior, and a lack of attention to cleanliness made it uncomfortable to eat there. I'm not picky about ambiance when the food and service deliver--but here, nothing quite worked together. The whole experience felt very turn-and-burn, as if the restaurant relies on proximity to a popular area rather than repeat customers. I left feeling like unless you're part of a specific in-crowd, this isn't a place that's trying very hard to win you over. Personally, I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't recommend it--especially given the pricing and the many better options nearby.

It's worth the time and effort for high quality meats; here it's Japanese style meat and bbq aka yakiniku. The service is wonderful too, the owner and staff are always very personable and eager to please each time we visit for the past three years. The place is warm and clean, I appreciate the overhead vents at each table. They are able to confidently accommodate large parties to two person groups. They can get busy and full on the weekends though, so consider making reservations. My friends and I don't gorge on meat as much as we used to, but when we do, Meat Time is high on the rotation due to the high quality meats and cuts, plus Japanese style bbq. We always order the premium selection of the all you can eat menu which is $68/person. You choose the cuts you want and the servers will bring them to you for you to grill at your table. They have extra premium wagyu cuts that are priced ala carte and worth it every time. As someone who just visited Japan a few times this past year, this place is as close as you will get to authentic Japanese wagyu in the greater San Jose/Milpitas area. Hmm the yummy tender fatty melts in your mouth wagyu. There are delicious side dishes and vegetables that come with the ayce, but I don't want to focus your time on them. Taste the delicious heart attack in your mouth. Can you tell I like this place yet? If you like high quality premium meat yakiniku style, you know what time it is?
