This one here is mid-sized, has plenty of parking (covered), is well set and organised and has the usual good selection of food for fair prices. Fresh meat, fish and cheese counters. Lots of fruits and veggies, bread and baked stuff (sweet and savory), sodas, water, milk and dairy products, beer, wine. Then the usual household products. Nice to know that they also have a Jamon counter where they slice your choice of Jamon fresh off the leg. Also available pre-packed. We enjoyed shopping here. Got wine and beer, some fish, salad, empanadas, some of their good desserts (small cakes and pastries), lots of water and soda. Always fun to shop at Mercadona.

Actually it's a very big Mercadona and there's a customer parking lot in the back of the building that you might miss easily. It's a really well-stocked store this one. Got water, soda, milk, veggies, fruit, snacks, Iberico pork, beef steaks, cheese, chorizo, paté, paté de cabracho, foie gras, tinned sardines, mussels and anchovies, bread, tortilla, fish, doggy treats, beer, wine and cava. Great selection, great products, great value. As usual. And staff here was very nice and helpful. Another good shopping experience at Mercadona.

Just before leaving town and heading further west we stopped by here. Actually just bought some…read moredesserts before somewhere else, but the stuff here looked too good. Bought a whole pack of their pretty and tasty small cakes / patisserie. All kinds and variants: with pinepple, strawberry, dark berries, egg yolk and more. Most of them with a cream / custard layer, a mousse layer and some fruity topping. The do look like little pieces of art. Beautifully made. And not just pretty. No, they are as good as they look. Delicous desserts. Not that cheap, but there's a lot of ingredients of high quality in there and also a lot of work. Definitely worth it. And surely we'll come back whenever we're back in the North. Loved it.

Besides Ice Cream they sell a good number of patisserie. Bough some merengue (baiser), chocolate cake, a crema catalana variant, a fruity cream patisserie and a cream-filled mini-cake. It was all homemade stuff, old-school (in a good way) and all pretty sweet. The baiser was nice. Not too chewy, not too dry. The crema catalana (eclair??) was nicely done. So was the chocolate cake. The fruity cream-cake was delicous. The last item, the cream-filled chocolate mini-cake was just sweet. Not really any flavours in that. But four out of five is a good number. Enjoyable little desserts for little money. There's another good Pasteleria in town. Also good, but more with a modern touch (check my review for that).
