Many restaurants are closed on Sunday evenings, but we were lucky enough to snag early dinner reservations on a balmy evening in May.
As we settled into our booth, our waiter Marco stopped by for our drinks order while we perused the menu. I asked Marco if he knows what a Lemon Drop is (not every restaurant in Spain does) and he said, "Of course!" Boyfriend ordered his usual very dry martini, up with a twist.
First up was the Mr. Porter focaccia bread with a hummus, herbs, olive oil and yogurt dip, a different bread choice from most steakhouses and really fresh and good. Next was the Taboon Roasted Foie Gras, which was flavorful, rich and perfectly cooked.
We ordered steaks, peppercorn sauce and a side of the Black Garlic Broccoli, perfectly cooked and just wonderful.
Marco was so funny and sweet and attentive. He took a photo of us to remember our trip by.
This is among the best steakhouses we've visited worldwide. We will definitely return on our next trip to Barcelona.
