For dinner, we each drank red wine (Merlot and Primitivo, if memory serves) and had a pasta main course. My husband loved his chicken pasta dish. It was simple, but with beautifully balanced, rich flavors, a perfect amount of sauce, and wonderful pasta. I ordered a special, tagliolini from the parmesan rind, with truffles. For this dish, they cooked the pasta and brought it out piping hot, then wheeled over a cart with an enormous parmesan wheel, out of which a bowl-shaped depression had been carved. The waiter shaved more parmesan from the inside wall of the parmesan rind bowl, then tossed the pasta in and vigorously tossed to melt the parmesan onto the pasta. About half-way through this melting, he poured a spirit in and lit the whole thing on fire, tossing all the while. Then he served the pasta onto the plate and finished it with shaved truffle over the top. It was one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. We ended the meal with house-made tiramisu (fabulous) and an ice cream trio of chocolate, strawberry, and coconut, all of which were wonderful. The service was fantastic. I can't wait to come back here again and highly recommend it.
Additional notes:
- Family friendly: a family with a baby was dining at a table next to us, and there was no problem at all, even when the baby began to fuss a bit. This was also not disruptive to the other diners. The restaurant is definitely family friendly.
- Mid- to low-noise level: we could comfortably have a conversation with no difficulty hearing one another. There was some noise from the other diners, but not enough to be disruptive of our experience.
- Great for date nights: romantic without being overly fancy. Perfect for my style.
