Pizzeria Marinella has that "hole-in-the-wall" charm, with friendly, family-style service that makes you feel welcome right away. The prices are great. I had dinner with a LARGE mushroom pizza and San Pellegrino water for €22.50. And yes, like almost everywhere in Germany, the water was more expensive than the beer! It's not a fancy place, but it absolutely does the trick when you're looking for something easy, affordable, and enjoyable.

The vibe is pretty chill. Families with little kids walking around. The cook (owner?) occasionally goes out of and is clearly known by the local italians. Seems like a nice guy. I must not look German because I was handed the menu in English. I ordered the mixed salad and spaghetti carbonara. The mixed salad was a generous size with a little dressing on top and then I got bottles of basalmic vinegar and olive oil to add more if I wanted. My entree came before I was even 1/4 way through my salad and I had to move it for the other plate. I would have appreciated it if it was delivered later. And that entree was not impressive. It appeared that the amount of salad I got was more. The pasta tasted like it came out of a box that had been sitting around for a while. The bacon was nice tasting and plentiful enough but the only cheese I tasted was what I added from the dish of Parmesan I was given. So, I would go back for that salad -but not for the pasta.
