Went here for breakfast and dinner on multiple occasions as we were staying at the chateau and it…read morewas ok. It was Bastille day long weekend in France and you could sense that the staff were run off their feet and you could see that they did not want to be there. The food was great however the choice for vegetarians was really limited and there was no creativity or a desire to serve vegetarians well. I had the king prawn ravioli which was divine as was the foie gras wrapped in beef. The beef was almost tartarish and I don't mind rare beef but would have preferred it was cooked a bit more, the chocolate soufflé was out of this world and simply the best soufflé I have ever had. I would return just for this divine dessert, The wine list is extensive and the breakfast buffet is also good, in terms of value for money this place ranks low as it is quite expensive and has hotel prices with breakfast costing €24 per person and dinner without drinks about €50-70 per person. The view is spectacular and it is rare to find yourself in a 16th century cellar which is where the restaurant is located. They have a lot of weddings at this place so it is quite big and can cater for a lot of people. For location and view this place gets 5 stars. For the food and service however this place is 3 stars for me and value for money is 2 stars. I would come back here again and hopefully the next time they will have better service.

It is frustrating when one reads a wine list, selects a wine, waits 20 minutes, and then is told…read morethey are out of the wine. It is even more frustrating when that happens a second time--and a third. We had to delay the meal while the waiter tried to find our third and then fourth selection, finally succeeding with a 2000 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne. Food was pretty, main course meat a bit tough though properly prepared. The chef likes warm celery, as this was in a couple courses. The presentations were good, food good, but the wine incident colored my mood. The venue is a bit dated, but clean. How hard is it to keep a simple wine list up to date?
