The teachers were friendly enough. However, on the first day I signed him in, I noticed that no one introduced themselves to me or explained what the camp would entail. This kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Overall, I am a fan of what Code Ninjas do with children and STEM activities they offer. I suggest the teachers (in this case they call them sensei) be more communicable with the parents coming in. Parents love to know what their kids are doing, and that who they leave their kids with are friendly, knowledgable, and approachable.

My wife and I decided to place our daughter in Goddard. Why? Because we're smart [I think so]. There are many things to share about Goddard. The education was/is great, but there were little extra things that brought my wife and I mental comfort. Leaving your kid(s) with other people....at a place, can be weird. Not at Goddard. No odd smells, sticky surfaces, odd interactions with staff; education, order, structure, and fun was in the air. There's nothing but positives, but a few items of personal interest pop out in my mind. Communication. We were always consulted in advance of our child's progress through written documentation and daily reports via the Tadpoles App. I didn't really know the power of the application, but it was comforting and very informative. As parents, of course, we all wonder what happens to our kid(s) when they're not in our presence - normal. What the Tadpoles App did, was to allow parents to check the status of drop-off/pick-up times, daily activities, see pics, see videos, get notes from teachers, reminders, and much more. The impressive thing, the teachers were fantastic at keeping [us] parents informed using technology - EVERY DAY. Keep in mind, the use of this application wasn't the only thing Goddard did extremely well at. At The Goddard School, there is obviously a focus on learning, but the school as a whole has a very wide range of activities throughout the year. YOU will see and be IMPRESSED! Teachers and parents [us] were in constant communication no matter the circumstance. If my child did well or needed more improvement at home in an area of weakness, I was happy to employ and reinforce practices that helped the teachers during their day with our child. Likewise, I appreciated the attention that was given to our child. I have not a word of negativity to speak; I couldn't imagine it. Side-note. After spending half my life in the military, I've learned a few things about: - attention to detail - communication - cleanliness - training & education - safety - teamwork - security - good times! A MUST-READ for every parent interested in enrolling their child in this facility, OR if your child…read moreis in the Toddler A classroom: DO NOT LET LOOKS DECEIVE YOU! While this place is brand new, clean, and looks the part, I can assure you that you will be extremely disappointed in every other category that this school has to offer- and this detailed explanation of when my son was picked up early on Friday, Oct. 30th, is why. 1. Security is an after thought. They have fingerprinting systems that require you to scan your fingerprint before entering; HOWEVER, upon arriving at the school to pick up my son, BOTH main entry doors were propped open while a class was out front participating in Trunk-or-Treat. NO staff members were present in the front of the building. I was able to walk all the way from my car to my son's classroom without having to follow any security measures or being ID'd. This is terrifying! 2. Upon nearing my son's classroom, I could hear him screaming and sobbing. This is expected as this was only his 6th day in attendance. BUT, when I looked into his classroom window and began to enter, I witnessed one of his teachers quickly bend down, aggressively grab him and "swing" him into a chair, and shove the chair into the table. ALL WHILE HE WAS STILL SCREAMING AND CRYING. No comfort given. The teacher was visibly shocked when they realized a parent had entered the room. 2 out of 3 teachers NEVER spoke the entire time I was there to pick him up. 3. The third teacher in the room was very kind and was the only teacher to speak upon entering; however, she had just completed a diaper change and did NOT wash her hands with running water or soap, as required by state licensing standards. She started to rummage through the bin of cups, looking for my son's (with her unwashed hands), and then walked back on over to the diaper changing table to fetch him a goodie bag for Halloween- because this is where they were kept.... 4. This is arguably the most important part of this review, PLEASE READ. The night after all of this occurred and I had officially unenrolled my son. I received 3 phone calls after 7pm by Ade Alatise, the director/administrator. Can anyone guess why she called me multiple times???? SHE CALLED ME TO REQUEST THAT I ENSURE THAT A FAMILY MEMBER OF MINE REMOVE A ONE-STAR REVIEW. Absolutely disgusting and sad to see that the priorities were on appearance/online standings rather than the licensure standards that were broken, or the well being of the child.

Only seven days after starting, I was told that my child was standing on tables, having difficulty sitting during circle time, and required too much redirection. We were then given two weeks to remove her from the school. My daughter was not being removed for hurting other children or displaying aggression. The concerns described to me involved behaviors such as difficulty participating in circle time and needing frequent redirection--she is two years old. What hurt the most was that I believed the school understood my daughter's needs before accepting her. I explained to director and the enrollment personnel the first day I did the tour the day I signed up for her class and the day I dropped off her documents And the first day of school . i wish they had been transparent about that from the beginning rather than accepting our enrollment and my money and then asking us to leave after only seven days. We have poured other school and chose this school and then to be told to leave after seven days Again, I want to make it clear that the teachers were amazing, and my concerns are with the administrative staff and how this situation was handled. As a parent, I did not feel supported or that my child was truly given an opportunity to adjust. This was an extremely stressful and disappointing experience for our family. Our grade school son loves Ms. Arla, our middle child is very fond of all of his preschool staff, and our 2 year old son has adjusted so well to the schedule and environment of the school: far beyond my expectations. The security is tight at this facility as one needs a code to enter and there is a sign in policy in place. The food is well balanced, and many times when I come in to drop off my children, the place smells delicious, bringing me thoughts of a warm home. The only improvements I would like to see is the development of structured schedules for grade school attendees during government holidays. They watch grade school-children during this time (even one Christmas Eve!) but their structure is pretty basic. However, I think this is due to lack of funding because the school charges a charitable economical price considerably under other centers in the same market. Moreover, the founder; Jane Ashley, is an incredibly generous person. She is always willing to help with school payment plans and is there until 6:00 or after. There have been a few times that I was unable to arrive for pick up until after 6, as my schedule is a late one and the staff was there without judgement. Although those statements are not a waiver to abuse the staff's time; it simply reflects their perceptive approach and sacrifice to care of my children. I would recommend this school to anyone. I am glad to utilize their competent services and hope that their return comes back to them 10-fold.
