I had a pasta that was too over cooked and tasted like what I would make in college (I am a terrible cook). My boyfriend had sardines out of a can, but they at least put lettuce leaves on top. My boyfriend's father had a soup that was luke warm and tasted like it came from a can too. I don't leave negative reviews unless the place was terrible. Please go somewhere else since there are so many other places to try in this city.

Amazing dinner, probably the best meal we had on a recent trip to Spain. Birolla 4 was an awesome combination of Aragon cuisine and modern cooking. Elements of molecular gastronomy (nothing too crazy), fresh ingredients and super friendly service made this an exceptional meal. The homemade gazpacho was fresh and delicious. And my brother in law's fish tacos were the best meal we tried - deconstructed "tacos" in a bowl with fresh white fish and veggies. There was an incredible grilled flavor of the vegetables and fish. We also had the best wine of the trip here - a local Catalunya wine from San Alejandro vineyard called Baltasar Blanco de Hielo. I'm not typically a white wine drinker either, but this was full of flavor, fresh and refreshing. We must have come in right as they opened for the evening (around 9pm), so we had the upstairs to ourselves and great attentive service. Birolla is cozy and charming inside, with wooden tables and a mish-mash of various chairs. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling in Zaragoza, and would ABSOLUTELY recommend Zaragoza as a wonderful city for cuisine, friendly people, laid-back vibe, and beautiful place.

Birolla4 - Surtido de postres. El más rico es el de sorbete o mousse y no recuerdo de qué. Los demás no me apasionaron.

This is one of the best tapas restaurants in Zaragoza. We came here with my husband's coworkers who…read moreare locals, as its one of their favorite places. I've been twice which was great because it allowed me try more of the menu. The food is inventive and creative! These are modern tapas. It gets pretty crowded downstairs, but if you head upstairs there's more seating. We were lucky and easily found seating upstairs both times even with a group. It has a fun vibe upstairs. It's very hip with cool decor and lots of plants. I absolutely loved the mi-cuit with watermelon ice cream. It's like a foie topped with watermelon sorbet. It sounds strange, but wow! It's unbelievable. Their "a la greisca" potatoes were delicious! I didn't want to share. I should preface that a lot of these tapas are single-serving and you can't quite share with a group. We were in a group, so my husband shared up my order of potatoes with everyone, which I was disappointed about since they were so good! All of the other dishes we have ordered have been good. My husband and I always share our food with each other so despite the small single-sized portions, we still managed to taste each others' picks, so I feel with two visits that I've tried a good portion of the menu. Prices are higher than other tapas spots in Zaragoza, but I think it's justified for the fun and modern tapas. We're back in Zaragoza for a month now, and I will definitely be returning to order the dish with the watermelon ice cream again! I think I'll try the sushi ice cream dessert too this time. TIP: They have an English menu; just ask for it. Also, the staff I have encountered so far have all spoken some English.
