Whenever I am visiting Cebu, I make my way to go here for matcha and dessert. Their cakes are affordable and well made. They have multiple selection of flavors, especially for cakes from ube macapuno to mango pandan to German chocolate cake. They're always moist and delicious. You can order cake slices too if you have no reason to buy a full on sized cake. They have a nice drink selection but nothing too out of the ordinary, if you're into speciality coffee. We love dropping by Titay's every visit we make to Cebu, Philippines. Sure, you can find their products in many grocery and souvenir stores all over Cebu. We prefer dropping by their home store because they are conveniently located nearby my wife's hometown. Titay's is a great place to pick up "pasalubong"!! What does that mean? Pasalubong is a gift or souvenir given to friends or relatives by a person who has returned from a trip. Titay's has so many choices. There is even an option where they have already prepackaged several boxes of goodies in a convenient durable hand carry bag. Terrific for hand carrying on your plane ride. They make a variety of snacks. By far, though, their most popular item is their Rosquillos. There are other companies who make these round crunchy and buttery cookies. Titay's is the original maker, and the best of the bunch!!! This store in Liloan also has a bakery with display cases showcasing sweets they made for the day. There was a small kiosk for Anita's Bakery set up at a corner of the food court of Chong Hua Hospital in Mandaue City, Cebu. They did not have a lot for sale, but what they did have available for sale was really tasty. She bought an assortment of baked and packaged goods made by Anita's Bake Shop. My personal favorites were the Cheesy Bread, Ube Ensymada, Torta, Regular Ensaymada, and Spanish Bread. They bake the Spanish Bread fresh!! They have a little oven at their kiosk. The rest of the goods are delivered to them from their main bakery. Anita's Bake Shop can be recommended for really good bakery products!! I can see why my wife is such a fan!!

It was my wife's birthday, and I wanted her to have a cake to celebrate after having dinner with the family. Rather than get just one whole cake to celebrate, she decided that she wanted several cake flavors for all of us to share. Honestly, I do not recall all of the flavors we had. I can tell you that they were all tasting good to very good! None of them disappointed. Service could have been nicer. Used to receiving excellent customer service at food establishments in the Philippines. Their service was lacking. At least the bakery was clean though. Sans Rival, for those who are not familiar is a famous Filipino cake of layered dessert that intersperses cashew meringue with French buttercream. Came here to fix my sweet tooth coz Sans Rival knows how to do it properly. I got Silvanas and braso de mercedes unfortunately ni sans rival coz they're out! Not a surprise as this dessert is so famous and went here right before they close! Better luck next time! Silvanas - Filipino frozen cookie and like Sans Rival it is base on French Dacquoise dessert cake. The buttercream is sandwiched between two cashew- meringue wafers coated with cookie crumbs. The flavor is light, crispy and nutty. It is delightfully mouthwatering and I can't stop each bite that I ended up eating 4 in one sitting. Ugh! My tooth is the happiest! LoL. They also offer different flavors (e.g., chocolate, pandan, strawberry, ube & butter). Braso de Mercedes - another traditional Filipino meringue roll with custard filling dusted with powdery sugar. This heavenly cake is considered as one of the all-time favorites in the Philippines. Its sponge-like texture will delectably melt in your mouth while the rich custard filling makes you so "kilig" coz its sweet! Haha. I know, you shouldn't be eating this especially if your pre-diabetic, coz it's dangerously addicted. Customer service is pretty good. The counter area was protected between plastic covers coz as you all know the Philippine itself is still strict. Dine-in is allowed but limited chairs and table. They have a selection of different kinds of cakes, but I went for the Signature Chocolate Cake - a rich chocolate cake with a custardy layer of natilla in the center, all covered with rich chocolate fudge frosting. The cake is moist and delicious and the fudge frosting is decadent. This is such a unique cake and I wish it was easier to find elsewhere. During my recent trip, I had three of these cakes (don't judge me!) and I will gladly go back on my next visit to Cebu City.
