The owners know their stuff through and through and know their customers. They have books in Dutch, French and English and point you at what you may be interested in. And -- judging by the quantities of books I buy there - they do an excellent job.

Le Furet du Nord is a huge bookstore located on La Grande Place in the heart of Lille. It's…read morestories and stories of books and books and more books. And some magazines and some of the other random games and notebooks and the like that bookstores tend to sell. Le Furet is a great place to spend an hour or two just wandering through and checking out the selection. They have a few assorted English-language magazines and a whole section for books, as long as you know where to look. They also have a decent selection of bilingual books, which I think is a pretty cool concept. But why not test your language skills and indulge yourself in the shelves upon shelves and sections upon sections of books en francais?

Our server was a touch cold and aloof but it was ok because they provide you with a paper menu that you can check off what items you want. This is a fantastic concept and I really wish more places did this. Two of us ordered the bagel with hummus, zucchini, feta, olives, tomato, and cilantro. This was not only nice on the eyes, but it was delicious and packed with tons of veggies and healthy shit. I could not have had a better breakfast. GF ordered the omelette with toast and she liked it but it brought up that dilemma that's as old as time regarding whether or not she likes eggs. If you do, in fact, like eggs, this is probably a safe choice. The last in our party ordered the granola bowl with nuts, seeds, fresh fruit, and yogurt. This person is very hard to please but I do remember her being pleased by this dish. They also have a million other things like pancakes, waffles (duh), sandwiches, salads, a dish of the day, a pie of the day, and a bunch of yummy drinks. I told the waitress I do not eat pork and she substituted the ham for cream cheese for the extensive breakfast. So often I have fruit salads with bad fruit, but everything tasted great! The ambience is wonderful. They have books in English and other languages where you can grab a book and enjoy your meal. It's a wonderful location to hang out and take a break. I will be retuning.

They only sell books that are in very…read moregood condition so although they are cheaper than buying new the prices can be half the original cost. The shop is well laid out with ample space for wheel chair access. They sell both paper back and hard back books. They will also offer to buy your used books off you but you need to check with them before taking them in as they do some times have too many books and will not purchase anymore at that time. The owner is usually manning the shop himself and is friendly and helpful. The shop always has large selection of well known authors books on their shelves
