Additionally when the sun sets, most folks are hanging out along the board walk. Overall the service was impeccable and the sandwiches, snacks, and drinks I had were great. Yet again though, I can't imagine someone paying the prices for those things unless you were staying here and mindlessly charging it off to your room. You do get peace and quiet and the beach manager will set you up with a place to lie out and just relax.

We sat at an almost completely empty outdoor seating, which I think was unfair considering the restaurant across the street was full-packed. Fragata has a prime Instagram-worthy location at the base of St. Bartholomew & St. Thecla, Sitges' famous landmark church. We didn't have a reservation. The host insisted the preferred outdoor tables were all reserved so we went inside. Frankly, the outdoor ambiance is the best thing about Fragata. It's romantic and classy. The indoor ambiance is nice, with an upscale black tablecloth vibe. Lighting was a bit too harsh for decent indoor photos. Service was prompt and courteous. We shared appetizers which were delicious, especially the croquettes. Unfortunately they were out of my fish entree choice, so I had scallops. The food was good, but nothing that stood out. When we left, we noticed the same empty outdoor tables. Hmm. However, a local British expat we met in town swore it was legit, and we needed a break from tapas. So tonight we gave it a go. We had: Fish & chips which came with mushy peas. Also had one of their two foie preparations. And a sampling of two hand made ice creams for dessert. The fish was great, though I'd recommend the cod over the hake. (We tried both.) The fries were stellar. The foie was much better than preparations we've paid twice as much for elsewhere. The home made ice cream was fantastic, and we're not dessert people. The absolute best part was the service and care we received. Such a warm, inviting place with genuinely exemplary folks working there. They've also got a great menu to select from. I don't think you can go wrong at Merci in Sitges.
