So, on our last two nights we decided to patronize this place and help hold-up the bar. We always ordered a plate of excellent Spanish ham, croquetas, tortilla, and seasonal vegetables, all washed down with cheep and cheerful Spanish vino. Each night was packed with locals; there wasn't any English words in the air other than our own conversation. That said we were made to feel right at home. It was so nice to see a small neighbourhood bar like this one, run by a family, basically, still doing well for themselves by treating all their clients like extended family. This was so refreshing to experience and be a part of. The décor of this very small rectangular space is plastered with picture upon picture of Spanish superstar legends (mostly old-timers) from soccer players, to bullfighters and so forth, all adding to the dusty, well-worn atmosphere. A visit to Tarifa, must include a evening tapas stop here. There are one or two tables at the most, and chances are you'll have to stand. We went early to snag the two bar stools at the back!

That's the treat we got at this place. Curro is the nickname/diminutive of the owner, whose real name is Francisco. We had seasonal (and phenomenal!) tomato salad with Roquefort cheese and their "secret" pork dish. Highly recommended.
