It was explained to me that Paris-Brest was a famous dessert, and that it was the specialty of this bakery. It's beautiful, but unlike most pastry I've had in France so far, it's very, very sweet. Like, make my teeth ache sweet. The other pastry I picked up to try with it was the standard local sweetness, so I'm not certain if the sweetness is part of the actual allure. The people inside were really friendly and helpful. Either way, I may try other items from here in the future, but definitely no more of their specialty dessert. read more

How to say I love this bakery shop in French? I can't remember how many times I went back to this…read moreshop during my 6-day stay in La Rochelle. The bread was still alive, even a plain baguette was so addictive. Give it a go, just buy anything from this shop and you will love it.
