We just had dinner here tonight. We wandered around town and looked at several places, but when we saw La Lumaca at Via Cavour, 8, we knew this was where we wanted to eat. The menu is very simple, several panini and several pasta dishes at very reasonable prices, with a simple selection of wines from the region.
I had tagliatelle with fresh, savory tomato sauce and my husband had eggplant parmesan, and we shared a green salad with tomatoes. We also shared a bottle of barbera d'alba. No sharing of the ubiquitous ice cream for dessert! Everything was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. This is a very local place; our delightful server didn't even speak any English, but we made do.
Do not hesitate to search out this place. You will not be sorry! BTW they also sell many other types of wine and lots of things in bottles and jars, as well as (dried) pasta in packages, etc. read more
