They weren't just bartenders to me, they were friends. Even if I were just passing by, Salvatore and Sandra made it a point to say hi. It made me feel comfortable and at home in a city I had lived in for only mere days (I am American). Oh yeah, their drinks at great. They have a terrific selection of cocktails that they make with care and expertise. They take pride in their craft while maintaining an atmosphere of friendliness. It truly is a great place to grab some drinks and make some friends. I would recommend it to anyone, and I hope to be back in Valencia soon to be back there. Mi pub favorito en España. Durante mi visita de dos meses, visité a varios bares buenos, pero la atmósfera y los camareros en ROA era lo mejor. No solo eran camareros, sino amigos buenos.

My friends took me here for my last night in Valencia. They knew I enjoyed cocktails and some wanted the special Negresco cocktail. I thumbed through the large whisky book and selected three whiskies to try. They have good tasting notes and 3 sizes for tasting if they are the malts. This bar also plays great music, so us dancers did some "west coast swing", some lindy hop and threw two airsteps. Soon after that, a co-owner walked in with his french bulldog. Fantastic dog! We got some pictures with him. Very sociable animal. Then we dealt with drunk Elvis. A plea to the karaoke bar that was closed so he came to Negresco: "stay open later. Please take his off-key singing and strange flirtations to your establishment". Overall, a great evening with great service and great prices.

Barcode is touted in all the guide books and blogs as one of the best cocktail bars in Valencia,…read moreand I expected a trendy, snobbish kind of place with a doorman, headphones and a velvet rope. Was I wrong! I guess that isn't the Valencian way. Barcode was casual, warm and seemed very happy that I stepped in to have a cocktail or two. Mind you, I am far from what most folks would call trendy, although I am a very "hip" older gentleman if I do say so myself. However, the bartender engaged me with conversation, mixed me great cocktails, and made me feel very welcome. Barcode is in a rather posh area of town, but this cocktail bar has no airs. Bravo!

It's located in a hotel, which normally isn't my thing but I feel like some of my favorite bars in Spain are connected to a hotel. The vibe is classy but casual, kind of a throwback to a vintage era. The vibe was nice, not too crowded at the time I went (6/7pm). Cocktails were great! Fun, specialty cocktails created based on the different regions of Spain; but also the classics available on the menu. In typical fashion, servers brought me some little snacks with my drinks, which I enjoyed as I people watched and hung out. Located in a cute area with additional restaurants, bars and points of interest nearby. A must visit when in Valencia.
