House of Bao - Chicken Vegetable Bun. Flavorful, but slightly dry chicken with minced vegetables that aren't really noticeable. It was my least favorite.

The BBQ Pork Bun, chicken, vegetables, cabbage, and mushrooms. It was a deal of 3 bao buns for 10 dollars. The cabbage and mushrooms stood out to me because they tasted like southern style collard greens, only without ham. The mushrooms gave it that meaty taste, even though it's a vegan bun. The service was great. I would definitely go back and try more items on the menu. You can find them every Thursday at the Ocean Side Sunset Market. Check them out and give them a try!!!

The pork is tender, slightly sweet, and coated in BBQ sauce that seeps into the fluffy bun without making it soggy. Highly recommend. - Chicken Vegetable Bun. Flavorful, but slightly dry chicken with minced vegetables that aren't really noticeable. It was my least favorite. - Cabbage & Mushroom Bun. A vegetarian option that doesn't disappoint. The cabbage adds a gentle sweetness, while the mushrooms bring a deep, earthy flavor that makes this bun surprisingly good. THE DRINK. - Thai Tea with Boba. Sweet with a strong tea flavor. The boba was perfectly cooked and chewy. THE PARKING. I'm sure you can park in a visitor section somewhere on campus. I didn't have to worry about parking since my friend opted to pick up the food for me! Thanks Jian-Sen! THE VERDICT. A solid food truck worth tracking down for delicious bao. The BBQ pork is a must-try, and the cabbage & mushroom a close second. Pack up a few dipping sauces for enhanced flavor!

In the past, I've had some really great meals and experiences there, which is why this review is difficult to write. Unfortunately, during my most recent visit to the Clairemont Mesa location, the food quality was noticeably different from what I remembered. Several items tasted stale, cold, and as though they had been reheated. The beans were mushy and lacked flavor, and the plantains seemed old and not freshly prepared. Overall, the meal felt below the standard I had experienced there before. I'm sharing this not to criticize harshly, but because I genuinely remember this restaurant being much better and I hope they can return to the quality and freshness that made the place special in the past. I truly want to see them succeed and improve because there is a lot of potential there.

I ordered the pulled pork fries from Seoul Man Food Truck during Balboa's Food Truck Friday's and literally over a dozen people asked where I got the food - I should have been a paid ad for Seoul Man Food Truck haha!! I am so glad I got this dish because I really enjoyed it! The line looked long, but food came or almost instantly after ordering which was awesome!!! The folks in the truck were so friendly and helpful! I will definitely eat from this truck again!

Looking out and seeing this one truck, alone, with a line of people, I was like "Ooh, Ohh, look!" The staff/window gal/cook/chef/owner were all very friendly. It was just a nice experience walking up to the window. Nicely done, Seoul People. The service was extremely quick. I finished paying and she was like, "Here ya go" as she handed me a plate. WOW! That was fast! The Seoul Man Bulgogi was very tasty. It was hot (temperature) and nicely plated with fresh vegetables and garnish. Nicely done and a definite re-order for next time. A goodly portion to share with someone too. The rib-eye was flavorful and cooked just right. Being a local Hawaiian kid from the islands, I love rice and this was some good sticky rice like I grew up with in Hawaii. Nicely done. The tables are nice, but very dirty and unhealthy. If I had my own food truck there, I would go out and wipe them off before I opened and every once in awhile after, just because I'm that kind of guy. They were actually kind of disgusting and we were very careful with our 5yo son and what he was touching. It looked like there was a lot of bird poop on the tables. Birds near food in San Diego? Go figure.... ;) I realize that the tables belong to the city, but I, personally, would clean them off before I opened. Just a thought. Downside. There are not a lot of trash options, only one. When we were all pau, I looked around and there was only one trash can nearby and it was overflowing. I think it has nothing to do the the Seoul Man Food Truck and may be a San Diego city thing, but it looked bad and was kind of a bummer to see that trash overflowing. I would have not known of the Seoul Man Food Truck was here, but I will definitely check their location the next time I'm in San Diego. Very good food! Oh, and don't forget to redeem the $2 off any entree, because I did since I just now saw it as I posted my review. :(

Simple and authentic, the focaccia like bread used on their sandwiches is to die for and all the ingredients are freshly imported, which elevate the meal. I ordered the Campania and my partner ordered the Americano (sub asiago for provolone). We both looked at each other after our first bite - it was like we fell in love all over again, but with the hand-crafted sandwich. The ambience is pretty basic just as you would expect any other type of deli. There's limited seating, but great for ease and convenience to go. The staff were also awesome. Def a 10/10 on all fronts and we will be back again. Thank goodness they are local!

The space has housed a couple of short-lived entities after a longtime rice bowl eatery closed its doors a few years ago. The small plaza had limited parking with about a dozen spaces for the customers of the tenants. The business was not fully up to speed yet during my visit so this feedback is mainly for a sandwich. The grocery aspect was in full view as there were shelves with dried goods and displays of refrigerated products. I was told that pasta dishes and other food offerings will be added to the menu which only comprised of several sandwiches available from 10:30 to 3:30. The prices ranged from $15 to $19. I chose the Americano which consisted of asiago fresco, prosciutto, genoa salami, coppa, bell peppers, and lettuce on focaccia. The sandwich was sliced into two square halves and wrapped in foil. I liked the variety of deli meats included, however the size was small for $18. A spread of some sort would have also enhanced the flavors of the ingredients as the product was a bit dry. I will come back to try the pasta and whatever other hot dishes they may have. For now, I gave a three star rating for Gusto Deli & Bistro.
