Unfortunately our mother lost her battle to cancer on February 20th - 8 days later my sister (the…read moreadministrator of the estate) and myself went to where our mother did her banking Metro North Federal Credit Union in Waterford, MI with her death certificate and probate paper naming my sister as the administrator. We intended to close her account and open an account at our bank for our mothers' estate to continue paying her monthly bills mortgage, utilities, funeral expenses and misc debts. We were told we could NOT close the account and collect the funds because our mother had a credit card through their establishment and they were taking all her money to pay the card that was current and NOT delinquent at that time. We asked for proof that she signed and was aware of their tactics and they could not produce us with this documentation. Then to add fuel to the fire 15 days later they have the audacity to mail her a letter that her loan is delinquent with late fees added - how can we pay her loan through them if they have all of her money? And knowing that she is in fact deceased how can they charge her late fees - who does this? They are atrocious! We would just request that they release the funds to us ASAP so we can take care of our mothers finances. I would also add their customer service tactics are poor as well the lady that did this said "I know her well!" And never bothered to say anything that someone with a heart would say like I am sorry for your loss or I am so sorry she passed nope she was only concerned with the dollar bil signs!

Not only did they give me the best rate I've had they also had hands down the best customer service I've ever had! They were friendly & helpful but not pushy. They keep me updated when there are changes coming up that may save me money even when I'm not up for renewal and when my renewal is coming up they make sure to get in touch with me well ahead of time in case I need to explore options or make changes. I dealt with Kathleen for my first couple years and she is so pleasant and friendly that for the first time I didn't dread dealing with my insurance. She just has such a wonderful manner that puts you at ease. Then for the last year it's been Kristin who has helped me with everything. She is so sweet and bubbly and kind that it's more like talking to a friend than a business associate. You will be smiling without even realizing it! They have been wonderfully accommodating with all the Covid craziness. It's almost easier than the pre-Covid way! With all the changes Covid has forced us to make anything that is easy is very much appreciated! I recently had some personal tragedy that has affected everything in my life and attitude. Kristen didn't know anything about it but she must have had a sense that something was off. She then took extra time to make sure I was ok without prying or being invasive. She is just a very genuine person and that touched my heart. I feel so incredibly blessed to be a patron of a place that truly puts their clients first, that works hard to provide the best rates possible and treats you like a person not just a policy number!! Check out Mark Owen Insurance Agency. You will not be disappointed!!
