My 5th grade daughter & I visited Compass on Good Friday April 3, 2026. We were both soo…read moredisappointed in the overall service that we decided not to go back on Easter Sunday. The pastor started preaching without any greeting to the congregation OR welcome to new visitors! One of the reviews described the pastors/preaching as "military grade" & that's what it felt like sadly. The pastor used all these big words that I understood (I have a Masters degree) but wondered who he was trying to impress! He also never even cracked a smile......nor did any of the church members! As I looked around, the members looked like robots looking straight ahead at their "leader.! Not a SINGLE person appeared to notice us & after we left, my daughter said to me "those people don't have the joy of the Lord!" That broke my heart because followers of Jesus should be the friendliest, most welcoming, most non-judgmental people in the world reaching out to a world that is desperately hurting!

From the ladies breakfasts, to the life group, and sermons, this is the church to join if you're near or in New Braunfels. They preach directly from the Bible and you will certainly be educated in His Word. Conveniently located off I-35, exit 191:(Buc-ees exit), then off Lifehaus Road. They have 9 and 11 am services, refreshments, a bookstore, coffee shop, kids classes, onboard classes, etc. They always have robust events that keep everyone connected, but be prepared to serve, with the talents our Lord has gifted you with. I'm blessed to have found this gem of a church!

A year ago an event I attended with my children, it was supposed to be a fun evening for us, more…read moreso specifically for my children. Since that evening those memories have lingered, the treatment I received from the organizers and some of those attendees, has left pain, hurt, and dark memories of that organization and the event they put on for the public. These photos are of my children from that evening a year ago. Last week I went back to see the registration details on that organizations website for this same event coming up in a few weeks, to only come across THESE RESTRICTIONS now plastered across their webpage. I took my children, I as the chaperone, my son as the prince, and my daughter's as the princesses. I was the ONLY mother/female there with her children last year. Everyone else was an adult male with a young girl. What was the harm, damage done by myself chaperoning my children to attend a "prince and princess dance"?? To now place restrictions on their annual event. The organizers made it obvious they did not welcome me there, they all kept approaching me questioning me. When I left that night, I felt I could not have left there fast enough. My children deserve equal treatment as any other child does. To treat a parent, mother, adult, who did no harm and had the children's best Interest first to attend that event. Those organizers should be ashamed of themselves for what they did and said. This organization hosting this event coming up in a few weeks, shame on all the organizers who have put their opinions into putting this on, how they mistreat parents, discriminate towards families and don't welcome families of different dynamics. I made a few phone calls around the city, and THANKFULLY there are other organizations locally that recognize the dynamics of families and WELCOME my children and myself together to attend their prince/princess dance. We are now registered to attend these events with these other gracious organizations. They will keep my business, with positive words, my support, and I will gladly give them referrals! Thank you to these organizations/businesses that open their doors to all families! (One day that other organization may hopefully open their eyes and mind to see how discriminatory they are to publically place those restrictions. Shameful).

I attend counseling every Thursday in the secondary building. Usually I text my counselor to let…read moreher know I'm there and she lets me in the building since a code is required to enter. On several occasions if someone sees me waiting they'll open the door and ask if I need help. When I tell them I'm there for counseling they welcome me in with open arms and are very polite. On Thursday July 25th, 2024 I had texted my counselor to let her know I was running a few minutes late but I was on my way. When I arrived I knocked on the door at 10:10 because I was frantic to talk to her because I had some new issues I wanted to discuss with her. A man in his 50's or early 60's with short white hair and medium build opened the door and asked what I needed. I told him I needed to see me counselor. He said the proper procedure was to text my counselor and she would come get me because she might be in session. I told him she was not in session and that it was my time to be in session with her. He refused to let me in the building and said he would let my counselor know I was there. After several minutes I called her to let me in. I asked her if he came to let her know I was there and she said no. He was obviously an unpleasant individual on a power trip so why he's involved with a church is beyond me. I called the church after my session and told a lady what happened and that I wanted to talk to who's in charge. No one called me back so I called several days later and left a voicemail on a pastor's line and still have heard nothing back. I was running late but that's no excuse for someone to give someone a hard time that's seeking help especially at a church. It seems no one in charge feels this is a problem so I'd urge caution about coming to this church especially if you're going there for counseling.

They don't have true members but t is just a big family. Anyone can volunteer and help with greeting, serving communion etc. their communion table is open to any and everyone. They offer lots of classes and have so much for the youth. Pastors Karen and KP share great messages. They are not preaching damnation and hell but love and compassion. The building is beautiful and they recently added an Adrian specifically for youth. Once a month they have a Sunday where they give back to community by volunteering all around NB. Very welcoming atmosphere.
