The club doesn't have delivered food or drink service but you can get wine and beer next door along with simple snacks. The "nicer" reef club (only two departures m-f )is on a space available and you get 20% off walk in rates for hotel guests - if you make a reservation, you are charged full price. Uber is difficult to get and local taxis are 15 euros to city center 1km. I would recommend a car but traffic in season is very heavy. Nice place to stay when you visit.

Dinner was ok the staff nasty, don't bother them too much, I wouldn't bother next time as there are so many great restaurants in Cefalu. Your room is small and your view is spectacular. Also this is a family resort, seemed to be a mix of couples and families. The pool gets very loud with kids. We had a nice room with balkony and a direct view onto the mediterranean sea. The room was equipped with an aircon, a mini bar, flat TV, a safe, and has a broad bed. Everything was in good condition. Also the bathroom with its combined bathtub/shower was fine, there was nothing to complain about. The dedicated room service cared for a tidy and clean room every day. The very spacious designed hotel lobby offered plenty of seating, even on the terrace. The seating is very comfortable. The bar offers a wide range of different drinks. There is free WiFi in the lobby, but not on the hotel rooms. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner was served in large halls with a huge amount of tables on the lower floor of the hotel building. Due to the size of these halls and plenties of guests it was often very noisy. The breakfast buffet was a little unimaginative and lacks in varity. In addition, its arrangement was confusing and required long walks until I had everything on the meal tray what I needed. However, both the lunch, but above all the dinner was of good to very good quality. There was always a very varied range of food provided: a salad buffet, antipasti, different pasta, fish, seafood, meat, vegetarian food, delicious desserts, etc. There was something for everyone, and it tasted very good. Also the dedicated service staff has been on the ball and cares for a pleasant stay. Who wanted some varity could reserve a table in the hotel's restaurant, located down near the beach, which offered a different á la carte menu every day. The hotel offers three swimming pools: two open air, and one indoor. As far as I can assess it, was everything in a good technical condition and very clean. What I liked very much: It is not allowed to reserve the sun loungers, e.g. with a towel. First come, first serve. In addition, the hotel has its own beach with numerous sun loungers on the Mediterranean. The beach is unfortunately a bit stony, therefore bath shoes are appropriate. There are also very nice beaches in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, for example in Cefalù, just a few kilometers away. Also a few kilometers away is also a supermarket ("Conad") in Campofelice di Roccella. Basically this hotel is also very good for excursions, if one has a car. You can reach Palermo in less than an hour. My tip is the visit of Monreale, a small town in the province of Palermo, on the slope of Monte Caputo. A visit of the cathedral of Monreale (Santa Maria Nuova), one of the greatest extant examples of Norman architecture in the world, is a must! This building with its impressive glass mosaics covering the interior (approx. 6.500 qm) is simply breathtaking. All in all we enjoyed this holiday very much and the hotel has earned four stars.

The lobby was open concept with a nice breeze. Staff was very helpful getting us checked in and helping us with the parking gate. Parking was free and around the corner but the dirt lot is small and likely fills up quickly when it's busy. We enjoyed the free breakfast buffet in the morning and were able to walk across the street to the beach, walk to town, and walk to the famous hike up the hill. Everything is very close together in Cefalù. And by staying on the outskirts it is quiet, and way less traffic to get in and out of town.

Review of Sea Palace Let's start with the good. The rooms…read morewere large and the parking was free. The beach is right across the street...... That's it. The place is horrible and it is far from 5 star - 2 or 3 star AT BEST. Let's start with the beach across the street - possibly the WORST beach in Cefalu. Small, bordered by a rocky prominence that makes it tiny. While chairs are included - you go there to find out you have to get your towels at the front desk of the hotel! The chairs are old and uncomfortable and it was just about as uninviting a beach stay as could be imagined. We stayed about 5 min and left for the pool - which was large, clean but unstaffed, again no towels, water ice cold, but at least better than the pool. Our room was nice and large and decorated in early 80's worn out wood - there were large chunks out of the laminated tops, we actually were missing light bulbs from all the floor fixtures, and the ceiling looked like it had had a number of leaks. The bed was about as comfortable as sleeping on a board with a comforter on top of it. Worst of all was the electricity in the room - it was infected with what is all to popular in Italy with the need for a card to be placed in the slot at the door in some ill-conceived Greta Thunberg inspired plan to save energy for the electricity to work in the room - but this took it a step further and required the actual room key to be read in order to give the room power. This device was not working properly and required the key card to be inserted multiple times to be read properly - and it did not give a good indication when it had been read properly. Even worse, it would deactivate randomly and require the card to be reinserted - which happened to us at 3:45 am and 5:30 am when I was awakened by my CPAP machine not working. Then, this hotel bills itself as "5 Star" - what "5 Star" hotel has ONE person working the desk in the evening to handle the desk, power problems in the room, deliver food trays upstairs, help people checking in with baggage, and walk you to the parking lot? Shouldn't a 5 star hotel have a BellMan to take care of your luggage? No, we had to handle all our own luggage (including a very accessible non-friendly staircase at the front) by ourselves. That was after trying to negotiate an entrance semi-circle blocked by two staff members cars parked on it the entire stay that caused me to hit the curb with my rental car and do some damage. And the parking lot was a muddy dirt field with a gate on it that was very difficult maneuver out of without hitting the side of the car. Breakfast - the setting was very nice - a rooftop terrace overlooking the water. But the breakfast itself - canned mushrooms? Pancakes pre-made sitting on plate out in the open with no hot plate? The same person making the coffee as bussing tables? I counted three people working a very busy terrace restaurant. Just another example of the cost-cutting by management. I could not in good conscience recommend staying here - its not "5 Star", not even close.

Our third day and we took the 3 hour drive from Catania to the town of Cefalu where this resort sits. Quick Tip: Next time I will stay the a couple nights at the resort versus doing the day trip. We arrived around 11 and spent the entire afternoon swimming, paddle boarding and soaking up the sun in the lounges while sipping on cocktails and reading. If you're hungry, you can reserve a table at the restaurant and enjoy some fresh quality food all with amazing views as well. We took a nice hour long lunch under the canopy of olive trees and eventually going back to our lounges. If you're not a guest at the hotel, you'll have to reserve a spot for their lounges as there is no beach access without a reservation. At $70 euros it is quite hefty but you're on vacation so why not???? Extra towels will run you $10, Paddle-board rental $10/hour and free parking for day use guests.

Roughly translated at the 'art hotel by the sea' you're treated to a stunning array of rooms. 25 years ago, 15 artists were asked to create hotel rooms with a difference. This is the result. It's so difficult to explain the experience. You honestly don't know what to expect when you get there. One room had a shower like a carwash. There was a room with a bed like a birds nest, one was like a fairy tale tower! When we saw that one on the website images, it looked scary, but when we saw it in real life, it was stunning - shame it wasn't free when we wanted to stay there. All of the art rooms have sea views - and these are stunning. You get a tour of the rooms each day - by moving each evening you get to experience different rooms - a clever way of the hotel keeping the rooms free, and a really great twist. it is worth moving your stuff over. All of the rooms have air con, but you won't find a TV or mini bar. That's really not the point of the hotel - if theses are on your list of must haves and you aren't willing to overlook them, them you're kinda missing the point of the hotel. The rest of the hotel is beautiful. Really stunning. there's an art gallery for goodness sake! How many hotels have one of those?! There's a great restaurant (which I've written about serperately). It's not cheap, but the food is great. There's a bar next door too. Nice enough, but they'll serve you your drink by the beach so there's not much point staying the bar! You also get use of a perfect little private beach with the bluest sea in the whole world. (My boyfriend taught me to swim in that sea, so I promise it's warm!) Don't expect any tourists around you. You're right next to a teeny town - this hotel is perfect for escapism. All this for EUR85 per person a night in September for an art room. I think standard rooms are about EUR65 and while they're stunning, I think if you're going to splash out, stay in an art room. I might just book a flight back there right now. It's the most perfect place in the world. I have such a special place in my heart for this hotel. I don't think I could ever stay in a Radisson again. Perfect. Awesome.

In reality this place is even more wonderful that what people say about it. Being the only Art Museum Hotel in the world it provides you an experience that no other place ever can. I was given a guided tour of the hotel's art rooms and it was a great experience. The hotel is very near to the beach and the guests get free access o the fully equipped beach. The Art Hotel in Sicily is a place that I would highly recommend to everyone.

At first I was concerned because the hotel is located outside of downtown Palermo. There are shuttles that drop you off downtown.
