And the food options are absolutely scrumptious! The drinks are where it's at though. There's something for everyone, and staff is friendly and attentive. The manager greeted me personally! For the rhythm game enthusiasts: the DDR machine isn't in the greatest condition. Pads are wobbly and P1 left & up, and P2 down arrows are in poor condition. The DanceManiaX machine works well though! They also have a rare Theatrhythm Final Fantasy machine as well that made me absolutely ecstatic to play. I hope to return to Monterrey someday soon. When I do, i know without a fraction of doubt in my heart that I am going to make it a priority to return.

Cafe Iguana has been Monterrey staple for over 20 years…read more This was THE place to be back in the early 2000, and it continued to be very popular for a while until it closed temporarily a few years ago. The beer is inexpensive, the music is great (if you are into 90's and 2000's alternative rock) and they have a small pizza place inside with pretty tasty slices (try the chipotle crema on your pizza) Nowadays in my opinion, the crowd is 25-40 years old. Including myself. The people who continue to go, are mostly to reminiscence about the good ol' days. The music continues to be the same as what they played 15 years ago, with some mild adjustments to fit in a few hits of today by bands like Hot Chip, Black Keys, etc.

So far I have seen Indie rock, alternative rock covers, ska, punk, hair metal and death metal. I would love to see this place expand to include more stages including IDM/downtempo and more chilled out electronica, as well as more jazz. But the rock is usually very good. I can only hope they don't have too many mainstream music. Also, the pizza is good, IF you are drunk and fairly priced. Beer is pretty cheap too.
