The cutest hot chocolate ever!! Thanks to Yelp, i found this cute chocolate bar in Barrio Italia…read more It was a chilly winter afternoon in Santiago and a hot chocolate sounded perfect. This place is tucked away inside a little shopping area with other businesses, so it's a little hard to find. But once you find it, it feels like you stumbled upon Santiago's cutest little secret spot. The people who work at this choco bar are super nice and friendly and the barista was awesome and spoke English! For their artisanal hot chocolate, they had regular ones for $2900 and fancier ones for $3000. The menu on the wall lists how much cacao each drink has. I picked the Bullet and Target hot chocolate because it came with bits of avellana (hazelnut) in it. When my drink came out, it had the cutest elefante latte art on top. If you look through the other photos, you'll see the other adorable latte art that they can do. It's pricey hot chocolate but it's really good and the adorable. They have another location inside Estacion Italia, another shopping area not too far away.

If you love chocolate, this is a must-try chocolate bar in Barrio Italia....like real chocolate,…read morenot that milky sugary stuff, but 60-90% cocoa stuff. They have hot chocolate and their cold drinks are perfect in the summer. The location is really cute, like many cafés in the area, it's at the end of a galeria surrounded by a couple tables, refreshing garden and interesting stores.

Seriously...I almost fainted from excitement when I came across this little gem. Potatoes and…read morecheese are two of my favorite foods and here you can have both - mixed together! What's best? (or maybe not for the best?) Is they are located 2 blocks from my house. However, even if they weren't that close, they offer delivery so everyone in the centro can have a taste of the 'real papa'. Although, I recommend coming as I am of the opinion that it tastes better when ordered there. So, I realize I have been talking a lot about what they do but haven't really explained what The Real Papa is all about. The Real Papa is something I had no idea could even exist, it is essentially a gourmet baked potato bar! The process: similar to ordering a burrito at Chipotle, you have your base (a potato) and you can add an array of toppings (and they all include sour cream!) The toppings range from American cheese and caramelized onions to blood sausages and curry (separated out into 'basic' and 'premium' toppings) If baked potatoes aren't your thing, you can get a tortilla wrap filled with the same goodies or if you want to be on the safer side, you can get a soup or salad (but don't be fome and order something with potatoes!) Tip: Do try the basil and ginger lemonade! They cater and do events - this is the perfect type of snack for big celebrations such as company parties, concerts or even bar mitzvahs
