Sometimes I don't even know what everyone will want, because the whole lot of is might end up downing the entire bottle of tequila. For that reason, I decided to get an entire litrode Tequila Tepatio,for about $950. The wind I was unsure about what to get. The Carolina Reserva Merlot seemed nice enough and it was not that expensive either. They definitely have a decent selection of alcohol here and there were many options to choose from. If you're a monolingual gringo you'll do some pointing and smiling. Liquor stores are surprisingly difficult to find in downtown. This is a good one.

I know it's not for lack of independent brewers in the country but rather the monopoly the two big cartels: Grupo Modelo (Corona, Modelo, Pacifico, andVictoria), which is owned by Ambev, and Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma (Indio, Dos Xquis, Tecate, and Sol), which is owned by Heineken. (You can now find Heineken just about anywhere.) Hence, I stumbled upon the Museo de la Cerveza. This visit in June was my second visit. I went last year as well. They do have quite a selection of Mexican independents, as well as, international. However, I found the selections from the US to be less than independent (I believe Sam Adams was the choice). The beer from Mexico is the least expensive, and what I am after anyway, at 55-70 pesos a beer. International beer is more like 160 pesos. If you are after artsenal beer and in the Centro Historico, this is a go to for sure. HOWEVER, on this visit my husband accidentally broke his glass when he got up to look after our daughter and we bought another two beers. When the bill came the owner prefaced with "Lo siento, but I have to charge you for the glass because I buy them." Aside from the fact that when one normally, accidentally breaks a glass in a pub you aren't charged, and my husband even remembered being brought a new beer once- we were charged 100 PESOS. This was more than the cost of the beer we were drinking. I mean I guess the philosophy in a museum is "you break it you buy it," and I might have been less aghast if the fee was say, 50 pesos, which seems reasonable. He just kept repeating "I buy the glasses" when my husband brought up that this was our third visit to the establishment. So the lesson is this is a nice place to drink independent Mexican and international beer, but make sure not to have an accident that causes you to break a glass. We searched for almost an entire day for a liquor store that carried a good selection of imported wines. We already had an idea about a couple of different wines that we wanted, and it was just a matter of getting our hands on them. While this store didn't have exactly what we were looking for, we settled on the Santat Rose Spumante which is imported from Italy. We have yet to sample it, but we were both so estatic to find a similar wine. The service here was also outstanding, and the person who helped us directed is to the correct área of the store so we could browse some of their awesome selections. The store is huge and there is also a glass enclosed refrigerated section.

This place was great. Nice selection, and they asked questions and let us sample based on what we were looking for ane what they thought we would like. In addition to tequila we tried some liquors. One of the liquors we enjoyed so much that between our friends and us we wanted three bottles, but they only had one left. So they checked their orders, established would be in before we left and delivered them to our hotel! Amazing service, especially because their prices were very reasonable and we spent less than $100 there. The fun purchase was the salts - they have worm salt, grasshopper salt and scorpion salt. We had been on hunt for the grasshopper, after being served a drink at bat that rimmed glass with mix of tajin and grasshopper salt. It's an interesting combo that enhances the drinks!
