Yay Normandian buckwheat crepes! I nod to Scott D, also a San Franciscan, for also reviewing this…read moreplace - Normandy-style crepes were a big thing in San Francisco for quite a few years (so sad to see you go, Ti Couz). So, with my SF-given knowledge that there was such a thing as Normandy crepes, I came here for my first crepe in the real deal Normandy itself! This place was great, but casual. It's probably best for lunch! For dinner, it works, but doesn't quite feel right unless you're trying to get something quick. The crepes are great. They're bigger than normal crepes, and heavier. La Ficelle provides an excellent array of fillings - pick from a list of 20! Or you can just choose your own. The crepes themselves taste almost like potato pancakes, especially the crispy edges. It's about 6€ for one crepe, and that's almost enough for a meal, but getting a salad is probably a good idea if you're hungry and/or want dietary balance. I definitely recommend this place for anyone wondering how crepes are done in this part of the world!

Yeah, this is the real deal. Great whole wheat (buckwheat?) savory crepes (we didn't try the…read moredessert crepes). We also got a "salad" with gizzards confit and walnuts, heavy on the gizzards and walnuts, light on the lettuce. Gizzards were AMAZING when confit'd. Seriously. If you like duck confit, you need to try this. Crepes were great also. Seasonal Rattatoullie and egg on one crepe, and potatoes, chevre, ham, and creme fresh in the other. Good cider options also meant for an excellent meal that didn't feel like you were getting ripped off.
