Based off recommendations I got from friends, we started with the lamb sambusas and then had the 2 person platter. I got a glass of red wine and my husband tried the African beer. The beer was served in a wooden bowl! The food itself was so good. I wanted to eat my weight in the sambusas - they were spiced so nicely! The 2 person platter was great - we were taught how to eat using the injeria instead of a fork and knife (we were provided cutlery if we didn't want to eat the traditional way). All of it was so good, but I did get a couple of bites of meat with some gristle. We then got a dessert - the black rice witb mango sauce. My husband was so full, he planned to only have one bite. All our meals were the same- rice, plantains, and little pockets of veg fried in phyllo dough. The difference was the sauces. I got peanut, my husband got tomato, and our friend got okra. All three were delicious. Tangy, savory and all three very different and flavorful. The plantains were caramelized and the veg pockets were crisp. The hot sauce for the table was also good. We also got a little of the "African Woman's Little Secret" as a digestive. A ginger liqueur that we absolutely loved and was a great end to a great meal. Highly recommend.
