La Casa del Aceite is a charming accommodation with seven apartments for rent. Although fairly new, the building is old and features the popular design of an open central courtyard/patio, which brings plenty of natural light in. The reception is on the ground level, the apartments located on both ground and upper levels, with a elevator almost incognito in one corner, if needed.
It is very centrally located in the Jewish Quarter, with shops and restaurants everywhere in the adjacent streets. Less than 10 minutes walk away is the Mezquita-Catedral, and a reasonable 18 minute walk to the Cordoba train and bus terminals if luggage is not an issue.
Each apartment is given a name and is different in layout. Most are one bedrooms with sofa beds, accommodating up to 2 - 4 people. The Zafra is spacious and clean. It is very tastefully furnished in a style that effectively mixes contemporary and rustic. There is a kitchen, bedroom, living room, and bathroom. Big windows with small European balconies in every room open out to the street below. Amenities are plentiful, air conditioning strong, beds comfortable, and shower pressure impressively strong. Water and wine were complimentary.
The only major drawback is noise. Proximity to a busy neighborhood means most street noise (and noise from the internal courtyard) is very audible. A tradeoff for the terrific location.
Overall, a great place to stay in Cordoba to explore the Jewish Quarter and nearby monuments. read more
