Pretty hard to find a decent cup in France but these guys hit the hammer on the head. Cute decoration and a variety of homemade cakes and other stuff. The sandwiches are premade, but I guess that's customary in France. We had one that was just made that minute and it was so tasty. Very friendly also.

I had seen recommendations saying this was a calm and quiet place to enjoy a coffee, but unfortunately that wasn't my experience since it was very crowded and noisy when I visited. Still, the quality of the coffee and food made the visit worth it!

First of all, their machines are all perfectly working and there's a guy monitoring them and observing what's happening so nobody pees in the machines (yes i've heard that this happens at your usual laundry place) So yes this place is really clean and even has a bathroom. Next, it has wi-fi so you can study using the internet of work on your stuff while waiting for your the next spin cycle or the dryer. Last but definitely not the least, the have a snack/food bar where yo can order different drinks, sandwiches, cookies, and other snacks. I really love this store's concept. It lets you settle down, relax, and eat while doing your laundry. Horay.

What a wonderful idea!…read more We dropped by here for the coffee to escape the rain after a brief market trip on our weekend away. We had the obligatory look on yelp for our coffee hit and assumed that this was just a hipster place with an interesting name. Well it is IS a hipster place with an interesting name but unlike most it actually lives up to the promise. We were very surprised to find a full laundrette inside in pristine colours with the main floor decked out as a trendy coffee bar. The place had people working or relaxing whilst some waited for their washing to be done. The coffee itself was average but at 1 Euro one cannot complain. They had free wifi and nice places to sit whilst keeping the ambience of a cool coffee den. I have no idea why other places are not doing this, it really makes going to the laundress pleasurable and productive. They even picked up our passing trade. Great idea wonderful execution.

On top of scrumptious looking pastries (cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies...) as well as savory (which I did not try), this place offers a variety of interesting teas. I had the "Bushwick" tea and enjoyed every drop. As a tourist I was happy to find out one of the owners (Melanie) speaks English and was very helpful! Bonus, free wifi! It is also very well located. Overall, it's a very cute family run business and I will be back before I leave!

By far my favorite café in Lille, Tamper leans a little more to the American/Canadian style of faire, thus there are a fair amount of expats floating around in here. And for good reason. It does away with the typical, cold French style and service and just puts forward a warm, welcoming, and genuine face that reminds me of a good cozy corner café chez-nous. Prices are a hair higher than normal, but the quality is equitably superior. It does get busy throughout the day and can get a little cramped, but take that as a sign that the secret is out and you're surrounded by good company. Bref, Tamper kicks ass!
