I tried to eat here on one of our first nights in Cysoing, but it was raining and there was a line of people out the door getting drenched and I did not care to join them .
Having witnessed their devout customer base, I returned a few nights later just after they opened in order to see what all of the fuss was about.
No English spoken, I translated the menu on Google Translate and ordered our meals ...
I asked for the Baguette Cheese Burger with fries (9.50€), coming with a big, handmade burger, bacon, over-easy fried egg, cheese, lettuce and tomato on a fresh baguette ... HOOAH!
When we returned to our lodging and opened the paper wrapping, there were more french (fresh) fries than I could possibly eat and a massive sandwich which I promptly cut in half and put on a plate with 1/4 of the fries. The burger was delicious, the hand-cut fries hot and crispy, and my stomach full with another meal tucked away in the fridge.
My wife was intrigued by the Le Bouc burger (9.50€) and a Petite Frites (€2.50), another big beef patty, chévre cheese, walnuts, tomato and honey on a fresh sesame bun. The `small' fried would have been enough to feed both of us, so I can only imagine how big the order of Grandes Frites (4.00€) would have been ... HOLY GUACAMOLE!
My Italian wife does not offer praise easily, but she claimed afterward that it was 'the best burger' she has ever had ... MAMA MIA!
This place does things right, the food fantastic and the prices very reasonable (20.50€ for the entire feast), especially for France, a definite TravelValue in my book!
