La Batea is a large home-decor store with TONS of stuff to look at, spread out over several rooms. It seems to be pretty popular, because the place was jam-packed when I visited, so take your time working through the rooms, because there's a lot to see. The front room has blankets and textiles, hand-painted drawer knobs, colorful decorated storage tins, and decorated mugs. The other rooms have vintage-style metal signs, lamps and clocks, wall hangings, and other knick-knacks. Some of it is kind of silly "cool mom" decor, but I liked the horseshoe lamps and vintage-esque pieces, like the "rusted" metal coat hooks shaped like roosters and the oversized decorative keys. A good place for fun, lighthearted home gifts or souvenirs if you're shopping around Güemes. read more
