We came right at opening since we didn't have any reservations for this Michelin rated restaurant. They checked the schedule and sat us at the corner of the bar area. In addition to the bar, there was table seating in the back for those with reservations.
The printed menu contained mostly drinks and appetizers. A QR code linked us to the daily offerings. Our server recommended his meal plan and we tried to modify it but somehow it went back to his choices for us. Overall the selections were quite good but more expensive (sold by weight instead of a serving) than we thought since some items were not on the QR code menu.
Sea Bass was our favorite entree with large portions of fish that were cooked perfectly. It was melt in your mouth tender and went well with the garlic pieces, sun dried tomatoes and olive oil. It also was the most expensive, priced at 68E and in hindsight not sure we'd accepted the server choice had it been clear.
Tomato soup with fried dogfish (from the shark family) was presented differently with chopped tomatoes and veggies in a very uniquely shaped bowl. The dogfish pieces were firm and mild. Priced per bowl.
Calamari was also priced by weight and lightly fried. It was served plain with no dipping sauce so we enjoyed the nice chewy texture but it was just ok.
The whelks were served as a plate of 7 and a side of lemon. It was simply steamed and the lemon was all that was needed. Prices per plate.
Bread service added 3 euros per person and was good, like a wheat sourdough. They would refill the bread plate when empty.
Overall it was a little too much food for both of us. Our original server also disappeared after awhile and others took over. read more
