If I could give 10 stars to a bar (it's a restaurant but in Spain it goes as bar), this would be…read morethe place. It's the most authentic place you could eat some delicious food. I am not big on pork or sea food so I directly go for their steaks. You have to order tosta de escalopines thinly sliced sirloin on a bed of Brie cheese on toasted baguette. It's the entire baguette, cut in half and toasted. I think the most important detail is the rock salt they put on the entire construction. I sometimes crave for this simple and delicious food and do not have any reservations going there by myself and eating the entire thing alone so that I don't have to share with anyone. It's cheap, service is friendly and excellent. Sit down and watch people if you can get your head up from indulging your entirety into your food.

We went on 2 different occasions, both times the food was amazing. Everything from the tapas to the…read morePaella and finishing it with Tiramisu, it's obvious why the local's call it their go to. The service unfortunately can be a hit and miss . The first day we went the service was terrible. Super rude, the server- Carlos had no personality, literally tossed everything on the table- he had apparently helped my parents the night before and they raved about him but unfortunately we can't say the same. The next night we all went back (my dad loved this place and wanted us to experience what he had ) and had a new server- Angel who was phenomenal. Tapas never stopped coming, drinks always filled, he was so attentive, charismatic and just made the experience amazing.

I know-I know. But ShoutOut to my Uber driver, David, for recommending and taking me to Los Timbales. This quaint restaurant at the corner of a small intersection. It was a beautiful bustling Saturday morning, and yet it was so relaxing inside the restaurant. Roxenne was SO accommodating! Because did I mention it was 10a and the restaurants didn't start serving food until 12p(when I had to be back at the airport). David ordered me some Bull tail & fries with somedelicious! They served me a meal before it was time for them to open for lunch And it was ¡¡Perfecto!! ¡Muy delicioso! If you find yourself in Madrid, you MUST go to Los Timbales. When you do, please tell Roxenne, Nicole said ¡Hola!

They told it would 30 minutes to make and meanwhile they brought us some delicious marinated olives and bread. We also ordered a churrasco which was brought on a sizzling platter. Muy delicioso! We had plenty to eat. Our server offered some dessert but it was impossible to eat more. So he brought us a "natilla", some sort of vanilla custard sprinkled with cinnamon and a sugar cookie on top. Even though we were stuffed we gobbled that natilla down. The service was wonderful, and friendly. The ambiance was very very tastefully decorated .

My friend and I staked out some seating here a couple hours before the Madrid vs. Barcelona game on a Sunday night. The gentleman we spoke with outside confirmed they did have TV's, and showed us a few possible places inside that would be good for watching. Sure enough, we arrived back a short time later and he took is directly to the prime seats. He got us extra chairs, and even informed all the nearby servers that we would be switching tables once some other people left, as that table had a better view of the game. I was incredibly impressed and how well we felt they took care of us and checked in to see if we liked our setup and needed anything. Needless to say, our husbands were quiet happy when they arrived. Between the experience we had at Jarritus and the incredibly close game, our night here is certainly one of the most memorable we had in Madrid. The only menu item we tried that night were the artichoke hearts which were "melt in your mouth" good! Can't recommend this place enough for the great atmosphere as well as the friendly and accommodating staff. They are truly a step above!

One day we had tapas and salads and the other day sandwiches. I had ham and the Wife had turkey.
