I was surprised to find today that what used to be "La Andaluza" (The Andalusian Woman) is now "El Andaluz" (The Andalusian Man").
What is going on? I asked the owners.
They told me they initially opened a franchise business "La Andaluza" but then decided to part ways with the franchiser due to better deals on products they were able to find themselves.
The easiest way was just the change the "gender" of the business.
"El Andaluz" is located in the main square of the town, a stone's throw away from the church. Honestly they could rename themselves to "Valencian Man", "American Man" or even "Chinese Man". It is still the best location in town. I doubt anyone would notice the change.
The owners were very friendly and helpful today. Seating outside, dad in law had problems with the sunlight. Two huge umbrellas were expanded and moved around until he felt totally happy.
Food. Salad to share (disappeared before I was able to take a pic), jamón (pic available), coffee - all fine. Especially the jamón!
Overall, nothing fancy, but a great place to spend time outdoors without a mask in the Plaza de Constitución on a Sunday. read more
