That was actually a good thing otherwise we may have missed this hidden gem. I accidentally booked a Handicapped room but that is okay the room was similar to one that is not except no tub (we hardly ever use hotel tubs), the bed only had a combo mattress boxspring instead of a mattress and separate boxspring (that made the bed a bit more firm and really low to ground. The bathroom had a wide door for a wheelchair. Other observations were a peephole in door lower as well as a bathroom equipped for handicapped. It would have been preferable to be in a standard room but it wasn't so bad and after driving 10 hours to get there we were not in the mood to switch rooms after we realized it was not a standard room. The room had a: Microwave Flat screen TV on the wall Small refrigerator Extension bar on the work desk Wall lamps on either side of the bed We were on the 5th floor which gets you away from possible higher noise levels floors (3rd floor is where the ice machine is). Check-in and out was pretty smooth. Be warned there are only two stations. There is a small indoor pool opposite the registration area. We did not get to use it but there was a boatload of kids who enjoyed it. The dining area has a television, two islands, and wall shelving. Two Waffle makers Coffee and juice machine near the entrance to the dining area Apples Plain bread Plain bagels Cereal including muslix yogurt Hard-boiled eggs (hot and cold) Scrambled eggs (a bit overcooked) Sausage links (two trays at the time - pretty good) Potato pancake (breaded and fried - tasty) Coffee (four different types, hot chocolate, and tea (4-5 different types are available 24/7 near the dining area. Special rave - the butter they use is super sweet. Loved it! Suggestion - they should alter hot trays over the weekend so it's not always boring overcooked scrambled eggs and sausage links every day.. try ham or bacon perhaps. They do not have shuttle service to ferry - too bad, it is further than walking distance but straight down the road - and I do mean straight down the street.. but about 10 min by car. The ferry is great! Parking is only a few dollars and the ferry ride is only a 10 - 15 min ride with a beautiful view of QC as you approach it. See my other review about the Ferry. To drive to Quebec Bridge it is only about 10 min, if going to QC it is another 10 back north after crossing the bridge (remember I mentioned QC is directly opposite from line of sight of the hotel (although you can't see QC from the hotel). The bridge is free. The hotel has a self serve outdoor parking lot in front and rear. There is a front and rear door. The gas station, and stores, and TD Bank a short drive away. Scores, and Tim Horton's, in same parking lot. We enjoyed our trip. The hotel was only used as a place to sleep and have breakfast as we were enjoying much of what we can get to in area vs. staying in the hotel. Would we go back? Maybe. It depends what is available in QC and their bang for the buck. The drawback is lack of parking in QC or an additional charge for it. This hotel is completely free to park. Enjoy your trip! Carson

Here are my thoughts: Pros: - convenience! - This hotel is connected to the convention center, so if you're attending work or a conference, this is the most ideal in terms of location. - clean and everything you'd expect from a Sheraton room : fridge, bottled water, comfy beds, clean shower with toiletries, etc. - decently friendly service. Not over the top nice but they do their job well. - Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite perks aren't too shabby. Best perk was the welcome gift - I chose the breakfast and it was much more than you'd expect from a "continental breakfast." I will share more about breakfast in a Cosmos review. Cons: - room thermostat - it worked the first 2 days but then completely stopped working. I had set the temp to 77 (I was cold) and it has been consistently sitting at a 71-72. Not sure if it's because it's really cold outside but dang. - Elevators. There's only 2 and if you're staying on the top floor, be prepared to make multiple stops on the way up and down. There were many times where I had to wait 15-20 mins to enter the elevator. Something to keep in mind when the hotel is busy. - No room upgrades - limited options - it's in the middle of no where. The area is being developed and so there's not much within a 15 min walking distance. Without a car, we were limited to eating at Cosmo's 3x a day for 8 days

It did not disappoint. We got a room upgrade to a lovely view of the castle and it even had a balcony. The breakfast at Chez Muffy was exceptional...the first morning it was so good I deemed it the best breakfast of my life (over a 1/2 century of living too). The only minor complaint we had was that we arrived late and the bar was closed. We were a little hungry so the front desk receptionist offered us some snacks from the mini bar. We should have realized these snacks would be mini bar pricing even though he handed them to us from the reception desk. $26 of chips and pretzels showed up on the bill! Our mistake. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again though. The bed was comfortable. The shower great too. And the service was very friendly.

Wonderful restaurant (Chez Muffy) and bar (Artifact) connected to the restaurant. Breakfast was included with our booking and it was truly one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had. We had a nice room facing the St. Lawrence river. The rooms were spacious and clean with a small fridge. We traveled with an 8 month old and they set us up with a sturdy crib and even a diaper genie. The staff was friendly and courteous. What really impressed us was that they were able to lend us an AC adapter compatible with my wife's breast pump (forgot to bring) that's not even sold in Canada. This saved us a trip to Canadian Tire / Best Buy. If I ever find myself in Quebec City again, I will definitely book a room at Auberge St. Antoine.

The Chateau is an architectural gem. It is well worth your time to walk around the perimeter of this gorgeous building -- you won't be bored. The tour guide explained that the Chateau is a 5 Star hotel and everything must be perfect. Once inside, I saw chandeliers and window ledges caked with white dust. The "grand ballroom" reminded me of my high school all purpose room. We were warned not to touch anything because the grand ballroom was being prepared for an Easter Brunch. Two of the tablecloths covering the round guest tables had strange, yellow spots on them. If I return to Quebec in the future, I will stay at the Hilton which has a fabulous buffet breakfast that is reasonably priced and an equally fabulous view looking down on the Chateau and the old city.

This is a 125 hotel all day long except for its 15 minutes walking distance to the Frontenac Hotel which is about the same price right now. Don't get me wrong everything is insanely overpriced around here. This is Manhattan pricing. I think the whole thing is completely not worth it. The Frontenac is beautiful on the outside, but there's nothing really going on the inside and it's just surrounded by overpriced, mostly lousy, tourist trap restaurants. I would spend a day here that's it there's not much else to do if you are active. Overall, I'm very disappointed at the hotel and the area in my opinion was a complete rip off. The area was nice by the Frontenac, but all of the tourist trap restaurants and T-shirt and sweatshirt gift shops just ruined it for me. Decent walking if you are into hilly areas, pretty to see once but more of a one and done after a day. All of the videos I watched on this place and the area I feel deceived. It was not that interesting at all and not worth it in my opinion. I'm bummed out it was a waste of a lot of money and a lot of time getting there for a crappy hotel and a lot of bad food and average coffee at unfriendly coffee shops. By the way this hotel has no lobby coffee, no water or snacks whatsoever. Some nights are 500 even $600 a night here. As much as I hate Holiday Inn expresses they are far better than this hotel. This is just a basic no frills place and you can't even adjust the room thermostat. Apparently it's controlled by management so you have limited access if at all some evenings it was shut off completely. This should be illegal at this price range. Again you need your head examined if you pay this price here. I only did because I was deceived by overhyped reviews. A lot of hotels in area are same price but from the little I saw of them they appeared to have a more luxury vibe compared to this low end b&b type vibe here. Oh and by the way, they gave me parking passes for a lot across the street. I displayed all of them in my windshield and I was still given a ticket by a cop in this parking lot that was $92 found on my windshield. If I say I'll never be coming back it would be too soon.
