Two minutes' walk one way brings you to the Cathedral quarter, and two minutes the other way brings you to the main square, with its bars, restuarants and Post Office. It's very popular with people taking the ferry or shuttle to/from the UK.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are what you'd expect - clean, adequately comfortable and en-suite, and serviced daily, though the decor is a little tired. A bonus is the small parking area (EUR7 per day) behind the hotel, some of which is under cover, and is secure at night as they lock the door to the street - excellent for motorbikes. The nearby square has plenty of parking too. There's one disabled parking space, and two accessible rooms.
Catering is pretty basic - the breakfasts are fine for EUR7 a day (though the dining area gets busy if they are full), but there are plenty of better bars and restuarants for lunch and dinner. (I can't imagine why you'd eat in an Ibis if you are in the middle of a French town!).
