    Spaghetti Con Polpette
    Mike J.

Very nice ambiance and a small off main road spot. Customer service was very good and the food was good. Would come again. My youngest and I ordered the following: Fried calamari: 8/10 wish it was a little crispier. Good sauce. Pineapple juice: 7/10 Spaghetti con polpette: 8/10 "meat ball dry" Special - branzino stuffed: 10/10 Branzino is a Mami thing but I gave it a shot and it was very good. The spinach was a little too slimy so would not get that, but the fish and stuffing made up for it. Recommending.

Very unexpectedly nice Italian restaurant in Lake Wales, right on FL60. Went on Valentine's Day, during the day. Festively decorated for the day. Service was attentive. Has the pork chop on the regular menu. Our party also tried bruschetta and lasagna, mushroom ravioli. Very tasty. Would recommend.

This place was really nice the food was delicious and service was great. The only issue is their credit card service charge but as long as your ok with that everything is well.

Absolutely perfect lunch! Good service, delicious food. When we first sat down, we were greeted, and they poured glasses of ice water for us. We received a basket of fresh, hot bread with butter and some cheese sauce to dunk it into. I ordered the angel hair primavera, and the others in my party ordered lasagna and spaghetti with meatballs. They came with a choice of pasta faggioli soup or a salad. The salad was delicious! It had variety of different greens, some cucumber and tomato and shredded carrot, but the absolute best was the dressing. It was a fresh, light champagne vinaigrette--delicious! My angelhair primavera was made with a light, white sauce. I got lots of grated parm sprinkled over it. It had mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, and it was also delicious. Filling but light. Lasagna was really good, a spaghetti and meatballs was also really good. The meatballs were large and tender. Thanks for a delicious meal!

Lake Wales may be a small community/city, but that also means its local mom & pop restaurants have the chance to stand out. L'incontro had the chance to stand out as a top-tier Italian (I will be honest and say American Italian) restaurant, and they took that chance. My visit to this small restaurant was one I will not forget. As mentioned earlier, the restaurant is kinda quaint. There is a small indoor seating area up front but there is also a small outdoor seating area in the back behind the kitchen's back door. Since it was late afternoon and the ceiling fans were on, it wasn't too bad eating outside. We ordered a couple of appetizers, four mains, and two desserts. Any place serving calamari needs to get tested and it was good, probably a little above average. The lentil soap was good too. As for the mains, excellent presentation and excellent flavor. We did pass around samples of our food to each family member and nobody was disappointed. We unanimously decided the special of the day stuffed pork chop was the best out of all the dishes though all of them were steller. Finally, desserts were... well... desserts. I can't think of any major instances when a top-tier mom & pop restaurant of any kind messes up their desserts as they are usually the ones made with the most love. I will say that is the case with these desserts too. What brings it all together was the stellar service of our waitress. Kept our waters filled, made sure to check on us, and even "assisted" when we were arguing what certain colors are used for alerts. You know, miscellaneous table banter that I prefer to do over seeing those at the table with their nose to their smartphones. Ultimately, this was one of my rare five-star outings and maybe it is because I was expecting average and was thoroughly surprised. Definitely will eat here again whenever I go back to Bok Tower Gardens. On a sidenote, the restrooms were clean and the price of food is "two dollar signs" meaning the average price of dishes are between $10 and $20.

Dine and wine in this cozy Italian restaurant which also has screened outdoor seating. Parking surround the restaurant. I came with about two dozen neighbors. We were seated at two long tables and there wasn't an issue with everyone ordering off the menu. No fixed menu for us. We filled one side of the place. The service was great and no issues with separate bills. They do prefer cash but take credit cards. Added charge for using a credit card. I had the penne abruzzi which sautéed peppers, onions, Italian sausage with fresh pomodoro and basil sauce. The sauce was delicious as was the dish. Wifey had chicken parmigiana which was huge with pasta. Half went home. Many chose the chicken parmigiana but there's also a streak or pork chops. Worth a trip to dine here.

Their full menu is on their website for your perusal. I would say their options are limited!

Yes they have outdoor tables don't know if they serve outdoors with the social distance and shortage of staff

The waitress we had was very kind and welcoming and bubbly with conversation. My family were all very pleased with their food, which consisted of bbq wings, lemon pepper boneless wings, a Reuben sandwich and fries and chicken fingers and fries. The only negative I have to say is I ordered a Greek salad without feta and the amount of dressing and oil was beyond an acceptable amount that I wasn't able to eat it all or even half. By the time I ate through the top layer of lettuce the entire bowl was wilted and drowning in oil. So my advice would be stay away from the salad and just enjoy the heartier options.

This becomes an issue when close to ten minutes and multiple staff pass by with no acknowledgment. I went to stop someone walking by in order to get a table. To be fair, they were busy, but I'm not sure that warrants crickets at front of house. We were sat at a wet table that smelled of wet rag and at this point, seriously considered leaving. Being hungry and seeing how busy it was, we decided to stay. Our server was seasoned and friendly. Our drinks took a while and as we reviewed the ever confusing menu, we decided to order some alcoholic drinks. Drinks arrived and we had to step out front quickly. I found our server and let her know we had to step out, but would be right back. She said no problem. When we came back about three minutes had passed and our table was cleared. She brought us our drinks again and took our order. We ordered the crazy bread and the pepperoni pockets as an appetizer. The only thing crazy about the bread was the cost. It otherwise compared to dominos. The pepperoni pockets were very good! I ordered a spinach gourmet calzone and my partner got the sun-dried tomato pizza. The calzone was as described on the menu. That said, I longed for the calzones of NYC with heaps of ricotta, mozzarella and spinach sautéed in olive oil, onion and fresh garlic. What I got was essentially a cheese bread with a hat on. Chunks of unseasoned tomatoes, fresh unseasoned spinach and mozzarella cheese-that's it. No seasoning of any kind, outside of the charred taste that all the items had from the oven itself. The sauce had a sweetness to it and this also was just...a far cry from what I'm used to. He said his pizza was cooked well, but lacked flavor. They're in business a long time, so something is going right. However, for me, it missed the mark on all levels. At the end of the day, you go out to eat for the food, the food here was less than Sysco quality. We won't return.

We were seated in the back room for a birthday dinner celebration. The room was extremely dark and we couldn't turn on the other lights because it was connected to the most dustiest ceiling fans that had at least 1/4 of an inch thick of dust. The woman who was coming in and out of the room to pour water in the water glasses had an attitude like she didn't want to be there. I asked her a question about the menu and she very dryly told me "you can't order that unless you are on the other side" then walked away. That's when I was inquiring about the bistro menu. At that point I knew I wasn't going to be able to eat anything there due to their lack of plant based items or even easily adjustable items so I just ate the bruschetta. However when we placed the order for the bruschetta it never came out. So once we asked about it, it was then comped and brought out. Our waiter was very irritated and annoyed it seemed with the large party he had to tend to but his assistant which was a younger more personable guy was way more pleasant to be around. The cost point for the food was beyond the taste and size of the portions. When I asked about kid options, the waiter told me he could have the chef make a kids steak or chicken tenders and fries. It was my mistake for not asking for the price since I assumed it was a kids portion. Granted the tiniest steak did come out I still had to pay over $24 which I would have purchased the regular adult size if that was the case. So some clarity on the menu options for the kids would have been greatly appreciated. I can go on and on about this place but ultimately I would recommend not to go here unless you don't care about customer service or price points. Upon leaving the family event, and getting home I then realized my debit card was never returned to me by our gracious waiter. So once we returned to retrieve the card another day we were greeted with the rudest and most annoyed individuals at the host station. Needless to say we will never ever return.

My server Kaleb was really great and informative, although a really busy day for a Wednesday he was on point. Both were really good, I would say the Alfredo lacked a little bit of sauce but that's just personal preference. My meal came with a side, I chose the chicken soup.. it was GOOD but very heavy seasoning which made it somewhat spicy, so I did not finish it. ( Kaleb did try to offer me something else which I appreciated however I passed on the offer.) I tried the Caesar salad and that was good and fresh. Almost forgot to mention the warm bread for the table was sooooo good! Lol ( I know you're thinking it's just bread?) but it was freshly baked, and the olive oil with seasoning was a perfect touch. Not pictured* since it was my first time they gave me a complimentary free dessert. I chose the strawberry cheesecake, which was fluffy, creamy and tasted really good. Not too sweet. I would definitely return back.

The lasagna and the hot honey pizza were both flavorful and clearly made with care. We really enjoyed the quality of the dishes. When we arrived, an older gentleman working inside kindly let us know that outside drinks were not allowed. We completely understood. Living in Florida, we carry steel water bottles everywhere because of the heat, but rules are rules. We purchased water with our meal without any issue. We decided to sit outside and the same gentleman even brought our plates and everything out to us, which we appreciated. However, shortly after, a man we believe was a cook came out of the kitchen and began scolding us for having our water bottles on the table. We explained that we understood the rule and had purchased water. He responded that "the appearance isn't good." I started to move the bottles to the ground when he became more aggressive and said they could not be there at all unless they were for a child. My husband got up to take them to the car. While this was happening, another man walked in carrying a bright pink sparkling sippy cup for his daughter who appeared to be under two years old. The same employee stopped him and asked if the cup was for him or the child. I think it was pretty obvious the pink sippy cup wasn't for the adult. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and uncomfortable. Had we not already paid for our meal, we would have left. It's a shame, because the food itself was good, but the way we were treated made the experience one we won't repeat.

He cooks his slices all his own beef rather than using a bagged product like many of the local places that serve Chicago style. You can taste the difference. The fries are all fresh cut on site, (sadly I can no longer eat root vegetables), but they look promising. He uses real Vienna beef dogs and Polish and has real pizza puffs and sausage or pepperoni. Basically it all sounds good. Being only 2 mi from home for me this is a great addition to the area. I hope he stays. From my first time I ordered an Italian beef dipped with hot giardinara and a Polish sausage Chicago style. It took what felt like less than 5 minutes for my order to be up. We talked a bit and I promise to give an honest review. The beef sandwich when first unwrapped did not appear dipped but it was deceiving. The roles he uses are softer and denser than most Chicago places use, to be fair we are in Florida. There was a lot of giardinara and it did not disappoint. I mean this stuff really brought the heat which was a bit unexpected compared to other local places. The sandwich was well prepared and had a ton of flavor. I will try it again. The Polish while good was nothing for me to write home about. On the plus side it was on a poppy seed bun and tasted good. And the minus side it was one of the smaller Polish and I prefer the bigger ones. Also there was no tomato available, which was no loss for me anymore as I can't have them, and I don't believe there was any celery salt. Next time I will ask just to verify. While not a five-star review, as I judge my actual Chicago quality, it was worth stopping and would be a good place to get a tasty meal for the entire family. Do yourself a favor if you are in the area and give them a try.
