Well this one is a historic store in the middle of Paris.
I wanted to get flies and fishing licenses while I was in Paris.
When I arrived, the store was empty but a nice gentleman came out and we attempted both broken French mixed with English and we conversed quite well.
Found out that the licenses for foreigners are not issued here - only to EU people.
He was very nice to point out that another store in Paris sells fishing licenses to foreigners. He drew a map, wrote down the address, phone number, hours, and the person to contact at Giga Peche. He even pointed out which bus and metro would take me there.
I asked about the type of flies to use in the Seine and Saint Martin canals.
He suggested I use a streamer pattern (baitfish) with a sinking line.
When I said I had a T8 sink tips with my trout spey line, he said perfect!
So I bought some very nicely tied streamer pattern flies and he said that is a good match to my spey rig.
Compared to other French businesses, this one was the best experience - friendly service - above my expectations!
Wish there was a quality shop like this in the US....
