This place offers high-quality, artisanal pastries and desserts made (as they claimed) with locally sourced ingredients and crafted using traditional French techniques. We highly recommend stopping by Yann Colmar's pâtisserie atelier to indulge in some of his delicious creations.
During our visit, we went to Yann on three occasions over two consecutive days. The experiences, however, were quite inconsistent. On our first visit, we purchased pastries and chocolates over the counter and were treated exceptionally well. The attendant behind the counter was incredibly friendly, patient, and eager to answer our questions, making us feel truly welcomed.
On our second visit, we decided to sit and enjoy an afternoon hot chocolate. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't as smooth. We waited a long time to be seated, and the waitress struggled to communicate with us due to the language barrier, using awkward gestures instead of words. This was surprising, given that the café is located in a popular tourist area.
Our final visit was for a takeaway hot chocolate, but it turned into a frustrating experience. We waited about 20 minutes in front of the counter for our order, and during that time, a waiter rudely complained about us standing in the narrow passageway--even though there was no clear alternative.
Despite the inconsistencies in service, the place remains popular. It has a pleasant ambiance, appears clean, and the pastries are undeniably excellent. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit, but be prepared for potential hiccups in service. read more
