There have been exceptions (see reviews posted for Pallazu Serenu in Oletta, Sole e Monti in Quenza). This is the third special splurge: we went for lunch in off season, only one of two couples there. consequentlywe got lots of attention from wait staff and the legendary chef herself (Gisele Lovichi). For 85 euros I got the "formule" (five courses, thick vegetable soup, cannaloni al brocciu, veal daube w/ polenta, cheese, dessert) the sheer abundance of it all meant my wife could share (when I allowed it) and order a single course (a "trilogy" of local grilled fish types). Wine was from Domaine Fiumicicoli (nice place just round the corner). The view from our table was of green mountains and of medieval Sartene built on the ridge above. matchless.
