What a surprise! I love finding cute little cafes with high-quality vegetarian options. After…read moreseeing a fellow veg rave about this place online, I realized it was just down the street from my house and decided to give it a shot. I went in for lunch on a weekday with the baby (and the stroller) and asked the friendly waiter if they had a vegetarian plate (because I wasn't 100% convinced.) He assured me that yes, they did, and would I like to sit at a table outside? Why yes, thank you. I sat.
After almost no time at all (which was good, because the wee one was getting a bit fussy), the waiter brought me a carafe of water and the vegetarian plat du jour. I was blown away. (See the picture I posted.) Marinated cucumber and onion, fresh greens in a light dressing, roasted eggplant (cold), grated carrots, lentil salad, some sort of vegetable mini frittata, and a vegetable tart. It was all fresh and flavourful. My only complaint was the vegetable tart had a cheese on it that was a bit too stinky for my silly American taste. Not a big deal - I ate it anyway. And the whole thing only cost me 10 euros! A steal.
Oh, a word of advice. If you're going to sit outside, make sure to sit under the awning because one of the upstairs neighbors got a little over-zealous while watering his/her plants and it poured down all over me, the stroller, and the baby. (Totally not the cafe's fault. Just a tip!)
