The building itself is old-school in a good way. Very warm and inviting.
Service was decent, not great. Staff surprisingly didn't offer much in terms of recommendations even when asked, and though they were friendly enough, they seemed to be going through the motions.
Wine list was solid, though not great. There was very little in terms of truly outstanding producers, and it was a bit overpriced. We did have a nice bottle but not necessarily something that blew our minds. I expected a better wine list for such a classic Bordeaux restaurant.
Last, the food was a bit average. My wife and I shared the Chateaubriand, Pot au Feu, and fries. The steak was very good, but the food in the Pot au Feu was a bit bland and soft -- we didn't eat much of it. The fries were fine but could've been crispier.
Overall, I'm happy I finally got to visit this iconic spot, but I think the kitchen and wine list are in need of a bit of an overhaul.
