Crépe caramello is my new happy place. It's got vanilla cream, a caramel drizzle, little toffee…read morebrickle bits, an unexpected scoop of ice cream, and, however inexplicably, zwei Pocky. (To be honest, I'm always surprised by a random appearance of Pocky.) And while in my experience crepes are usually plated in quarters or even sixths in order to fit on a small luncheon plate, at Cafe Hindenburg it is mostly flat with an artistic fold on a beautiful deckle-edge glass plate the size of a steering wheel. Which means a LOT of caramel.
It's too big and too sweet for one person dining alone, but I gave it a good try, lingering at the sidewalk cafe next to the fountain, listening to the murmurs of my fellow patrons. Next time I'll try harder. Or maybe try one of their gelati.
