He took over the place from the family - and even before that the restaurant was well known in the region for a more traditional take on cuisine and most of all for his grandmothers FANTASTIC cakes. Clearly he has good connections to either local hunters or a good meat supplier because we've sampled the beef filet, deer and goose and found them all to be top quality. His menu is inventive and quite large, offering regular favorites as well as a seasonal menu with 3, 4 or 5 courses - all reasonably priced. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed with lots of separate rooms and corners so families can feel free to enjoy without bothering the couples dining without children. Overall we were quite pleased and have no major criticism. We only hope they are able to get the word of mouth around fast enough to gain the customer base they will need to survive. We are doing our part because we'd like to enjoy their kitchen's offerings for years to come.

The rooms are not vented very well and even with the windows open it gets very warm. We are here in June. The rooms are clean so no complaints there.
