I love their station and everything! I love calling in and just listening to Z's Sleaze. I love hearing all the gossip about celebrity news. I've been listening for a while and I think they deserve a 10 star review on EVERYTHING! I also love Nerd News. Often the difference in dollars between what a company is willing to pay, and what you as a contract hire under Aerotek see, are used to not only keep Aerotek afloat, but also to subsidize the bank account of the person doing the placement (they are not getting a flat fee, they are subsidizing their pay by the dollars they save for Aerotek). So the fewer dollars you are willing to work for, the better for Aerotek and its employees (you as a contract worker are not an employee). If Aerotek has a large pool of potential employees, it will find the one person in that pool who is willing to work for bottom dollar and place this person first. It really doesn't matter if there is someone with more experience at that job available. In fact, more experience often means that you would be seeking more money, so they may tell you the job isn't open with their left hand, while the right hand feeds that job to someone with no experience. After they let you wither on the vine for a while, you may get a job at a lesser pay. And if you have worked anywhere for many years, and through a blip in the economy were forced out of that job (anyone over 40), then do not even darken Aerotek's door. They might act like they are interested in you at first, but you will NEVER be placed even if they have to bring in someone from a somewhat aligned career who they have been leaving to wither on the vine elsewhere, but will now work for next to nothing. Don't demean yourself. Avoid Aerotek.

Obama was in Iowa City a few days ago, so I called up the online version of the Daily Iowan to…read more"Read All About It". The visit and the associated commentaries were well presented and represented as the Health Care debate rages on and most definitely into the November elections. However, as a University of Iowa graduate, I really enjoyed seeing Iowa City (and Iowa) being shown off again to the nation. And when Obama went into Prairie Lights Books for the latest by Rove and Romney, I smiled as I had been there too and in that same section of the store. I also wonder if he also stopped at Hamburg Inn #2? As for the DI, I picked up my copy when I was on Campus a few weeks ago and in a small way "caught up". The print copy was harder to find as most students probably get their news online. Instead, I took my copy up to the coffee shop at Prairie Lights and took my news analog style and with a hot cup of Joe. And I can easily say that this student run paper still does a great job keeping up with all things Hawkeye.
