Ijust tried this ramen place down the street, and wow, I'm impressed! The broth was incredibly flavorful, rich, and savory, just how I like it. The noodles had the perfect texture, not too soft and not too firm, just right for slurping. The toppings were fresh and plentiful, especially the tender pork. I'm definitely going back soon; this is my new favorite spot! read more

Milk & matcha puddings with red bean toppings Good spot for ramen with the double flavor ramen bowl. This bowl is huge so it gives really good value on the higher price with the saying "Double Flavors, Double Happiness!" Besides the double-sided ramens, they have normal bowls, good on the side dishes, and good combos. There are combos for 2 people with 2 bowls of ramens with drinks + desserts!! What I enjoyed most of Kyuramen were their delightful desserts of "Mango Pudding with Red Bean" and "Japanese Cherry Blossom Jelly". Smooth and jiggly fun with each bite. As for dinner, al dente was the ramen in our bowls yet no depth was there to their broth; and, with their "omurice", absolutely mind blowing was the presentation, eggs beautifully cooked, but very salty was the curry sauce. All in all, with the promptness of being seated with our reservation, the coziness of our tatami-style room, and, the efficient and fast service on this busy Saturday night, I will come again! Solid ramen spot in the city, although I have had better miso ramen elsewhere. The service is good here and everything came out quick, almost too quickly! I got the miso ramen and added corn, and we shared the kara age. The Kara age had a great seasoning over it, I wish i knew what it was! We also got the pork belly buns which were pretty good. They came with spicy mayo sauce and it complemented the sweetness of the pork belly piece well. The ramen was a bit bland however, and based on other reviews, i expected more since I had this place bookmarked for so long... The pork chashu was also nothing to rave about. I would consider this an "Upscale ramen shop" but priced no more than any other ramen shop. The menu variety is HUGE, and yet the quality remains great. They served food SOO fast - literally coming out within minutes. Top notch service and food presentation. I have been to Japan and love how respectful people are and felt the same with staff here. They have private booths seating and each table had hand sanitizers and tissues (not napkins but tissues!). For decoration, they have a ema wall and an inside cute fake tree. Octopus Balls - Fantastic. Loved the presentation and the flavor. Served piping hot and the sauce was great. Fried Oysters - Being fried it had a mussel texture not slimy but with a little lemon and sauce these were wonderful. Soft Shell Crab Rice Burger - Rice patties held their form well but not overly hard rice, and the crab was a fairly decent size. Was solid and enjoyed it but not fantastic - still worth a try Sapporo Miso Ramen - For a ramen shop you'd expect their ramen to be their best items, but I found it to be their weakest. The half egg and noodles were great but the broth was not very flavorful. I wish there was more than one piece of chashu and the whole item wasn't a huge portion. Also their spice levels are very strong (mild had a decent kick) - but it definitely drowned out a lot of the flavor which I felt was lacking in the first place. Matcha & Mango Crepe Cakes - Both are wonderful. They are made with many layers - a mix of crepe and cream, both not overpowering in sweetness. $10 a slice is pricy but definitely very good. Food: 4.5/5 Great desserts and appetizers, entrees were decent Service: 5/5 - Top tier Ambience: 5/5 Cute Japanesque setting TLDR: *1 free thai tea/pudding if you check in on yelp ** Would definitely come back. I do believe their ramen broth needs work & be careful with their spice levels (they HOT!). This was my first time ever trying Ramen and I must say, it was an amazing experience. I ordered the MEGA Ramen which came with Pork, Shrimp, Bamboo Shoot, Wakame, Egg, Nori, Corn and Scallions. It was served in a bowl, and was definitely a good amount for 1 person. The entire order was very tasteful and had a delicious combination of flavors. Afterwards, our server asked us very nicely if we were in the mood for dessert, so I ordered the Matcha Pudding with Red Bean. It was a small dessert but just enough to satisfy my cravings for dessert. I definitely recommend this place, specially if its your first time having Ramen. read more

This place is so freakin' adorable. Love the setup, it's charming & clean. I ordered the Kimchi Ramen & while I enjoyed everything in there my favorite part was the noodles- slightly wavy & just the perfect texture. My sake came in the cutest little panda cup! My bf had the Thai iced tea - shockingly wasn't overly sweet & I was very surprised that I actually liked it. I usually hate Thai iced tea haha. Weirdly enough I'm craving it now...probably because I'm super hungover but that's another story. One of my favorite ramen places! Their food is so tasty! I've been ordering from here since before the pandemic. I made a reservation online and came in person with my friends. After the pandemic started, I haven't paid an in person visit yet but I've ordered delivery. When it comes to ordering delivery/take out, their ramen and broth comes in a paper container, in separate compartments. Which is great because you don't have to worry about your ramen being too soggy if you don't eat it right away. I usually order the Combination B, which includes 2 ramens, popcorn chicken, matcha pudding and Japanese cherry blossom dessert. I used to order on UberEats prior to their app coming out, but now that their app came out, it's a lot more convenient to order from. I love this place and you should just go to experience it yourself. Kyu Ramen as a restaurant chain is flourishing and I'll explain why. The Flushing location is DEFINITELY a hole in the wall because we almost missed it. For that reason plus the aesthetic interior I feel transported to Japan and I love that. We have our own private table with curtains and the wall is equipped with a button for us to communicate with our server without them having to constantly check in on us. We order the fried corn, fried oysters, and fried potato shrimp for starts. I liked the corn but not enough to order again. The oysters I could have went without tbh but the potato shrimp were DELISH. It's the little snack I didn't know I needed in my life and I will be ordering it again. For the mains we ordered the Mega Ramen and Vegetable Miso Ramen. My partner said the pork in the Mega Ramen was the BEST he ever had, that it was well prepared. Been wanting to come here forever but was a little disappointed in their omurice. The sauce that goes on top has no taste at all (not sure if it was suppose to be curry or not because there was no taste). It wasn't salty, sweet, spicy... it was just blend, I should have asked for some salt. The rice that was underneath the egg was blend as well, I really think they forgot to put seasoning. I only ate half of this dish. Their pork katsu was good though that's why I gave them 3 stars and not 2. We also had the curry ramen noodles and that one had much more taste than my rice. Kyuramen is one of the first places I visited after the pandemic started. They check vaccination verifications and allow you to sit indoors or outdoors. First impression was that they were very considerate of the social distance guidelines and tables and patreons were spaced pretty far apart. Waiters were wearing gloves and facemasks. There were a lot more gnats indoors than I would like and they even have plug in bug repellent in some of the electrical outlets. The table behind us unplugged theirs to charge their phones so they kept flying around. Came here because of the omurice. The demi-glazed sauce wasnt overpowering and I literally kept pouring it around my rice. The Couple ramen combos allow you to try different broths if you cant settle on only trying one. The takoyaki was delicious but nothing special. The Cherry Blossom was very refreshing and was a great way to end the meal. Most of the entree items also allow you to add a thai iced tea for $3 and those were delicious. If you check in on yelp you can also get a free green tea dessert! Ramen is good but not exceptional. Pretty average. The pork bun is disgusting. The bun was hard and there's no flavor in that piece of fat. The sauce was smudged in the middle and not spread. The Thai ice tea was decent. I came on a Sunday afternoon and we got seated in one of the booth right away. It was seating inside a sauna. It was soooo hot. Service was ok.
