Easily half the hotels I booked in France were abhorrent and expensive, which I just chalk up to the fact that travellers from all over the world flock to France, so even the hovels make easy money. Altedia is very comfortable, and out of the way. The staff was very courteous, the room very comfortable, and the stay was great. I even liked the dining available onsite. The only downside for me was not having much within walking distance. With a rental car it's easy striking distance to Chambery, which is a great city full of history and friendly people.

Charlotte, her husband and the entire staff were warm, friendly and they took care of our every need and anticipated them as well. For example, one evening she noticed we had not returned and called us to make sure we were able to get into the restricted area of town where the hotel was so that we could park the car. The design of the hotel is modern, chic and inviting. Charlotte's attention to detail is visible everywhere.... And her breakfasts are wonderful as well. Simply put, you should come to Chambery just to experience this little bit of heaven!!
