I mean if you love guns and outdoors stuff. This is the place for you! There was a bunch of us here doing the Bourbon tours. The girls wanted to go to the stores of downtown Bardstown. So we ditched them and came here. More our style! I am a self proclaimed gun connoisseur. And they had a great selection of all types of guns. They had a huge Ammo selection as well as lots of accessories. They also have a huge archery section. We also browsed the lawnmowers and the Stihl equipment. (only the best!) Staff was friendly and helpful. Very cool place to visit. read more

I purchased a magazine one week prior to Virginias law change. Paid $18 shipping for 2-4 day delivery. Kentucky borders Virginia. Kentucky gun company called next day and said they couldn't ship for 3 days so I would need to pay an additional $30 in shipping cost to make up for their lag time. So I cancelled. I should have known better. In 2019 it took Kentucky Gun Company almost 4 weeks to ship a firearm to my FFL. read more

KYGUNCO - Bardstown - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Bardstown, Kentucky

Yes, in my experience they are not quick shippers. Based on reviews I was aware of this going in. To me it's a trade off for their pricing, free shipping and no tax. I will also mention the long hold times for Customer Service but on the plus side the interactions were friendly and helpful. I also like their web site and search engine to browse there inventory. I have in fact ordered another gun from them because considering all factors, they easily had the best price. read more

They DON'T price match unless it is the exact same gun. Then it has to be local, NOT on the internet. I guess they don't sell on the internet. I know they do, but you even have to watch the store prices, as some of the internet prices on their site are cheaper. Not the same place as the old days, or even when they had just one store. I'll just go to Bud's in Lexington anymore and not bother with Bardstown. For the record, it WAS exactly the same gun, model number and everything was the same, but $150 cheaper. They didn't even try to match it. read more

March 28th I purchased a firearm from this company online for a great price. Shipping time was good and the firearm showed up within one weeks time which I would consider a timely manor. The firearm I purchased was from a company KYgunco was advertising rebates for, Beretta. Beretta requires a receipt showing the serial number of the firearm to be able to process the rebate, and KYgunco does not show the serials for the firearm on their receipts. I emailed their customer service email address requesting a copy containing the serial on April 4th, and April 9th. It is now mid day April 14th with no response from them. As someone who also operates in the industry, I'm disappointed by this especially since they advertise the rebate on their site. Small business is busy I understand, but I'd like to see this remedied. read more

Extremely slow to ship! In fact the slowest with any firearm store I have dealt with...ever.

As a long time consumer who is constantly looking for deals I've made plenty of online transactions in the past with various companies and never have I been put through the wringer as I have with these people at kygunco. I have two addresses I currently live in the communist state of Washington and that is where my real ID says I live, so I forwarded that my actual bank account statement showing the charge for the order to kygunco and I received a email back requesting proof I lived at the address I was sending the order too??? Well I'm sorry but technically a real ID is only for the place I live the only document showing my affiliation with the shipping address is my old DD-214 proof of military service I also included shipping documents from MidwayUSA and TargetSports showing I ship items to this address on a regular basis after all this effort they still canceled my order. I recommend if you need to buy something and the treatment of Veterans you choose another company. read more

An excellent place to get what you need with great low prices and excellent service. A large selection

HOW TO LOSE A FORMER 20 YEAR CUSTOMER 1) Employ a smart-mouth brat store manager named Gabi (aka "Pickles") who intentionally picked a fight with me over my temporary cataract problem. She is a former healthcare worker rejected for her rude manner. She offered to buy Save-A-Buck at one time, but thankfully the good Mr. Walker did not sell to the brat. KYGUNCO lost in excess of $1500+ from me just in the month of July 2024. Mr. Walker thanks you for the business Gabi! Way to disrespect and piss off the boomer generation with our retirement checks, fat 401K, and loads of disposable income not to be spent at KYGUNCO. 2) Have a malfunctioning digital ATF background check device and unable to have the screen brightness or contrast adjusted so as to aid a senior citizen with a temporary catacract disability. Also, no paper method either. 3) Have so-called "expert" counter help that does not even know the basic difference between 22MAG and 17HMR casings. Since Blaine left, the only worthwhile employee left is Zach. 4) Have common items constantly out of stock. For example, a basic 22 cal Pro-Shot spear jag not on the shelf for over 2 months. Ok, time to go get it from EBAY with no problem. 5) Have ammo on the very top shelf where the customer and employees cannot even find it. Basic 22WMR CCI was found covered in dust on the very top shelf. Great business practice there Patrick H.! DUH! 6) Prices? Give me a break. Bought a CZ 457 for $100 less out-the-door from Family Firearms of Alabama. KYGUNCO is frequently $50 or so more than the competition on firearms. 7) Actual store inventory out-of-sync with website. Waste more of the customer's time, Patrick H. 8) Like to build your own? Forget KYGUNCO and forget getting spare or replacement parts for your AR platform, those vanished when the gunsmith left, so no spare springs, detents etc. for the builder. 9) I personally witnessed Gabi's snide and discriminatory treatment of a black African American customer and was surprised at that customer's level of tolerence for her abuse, so it does not surprise me that a Hispanic customer experienced the same thing as stated in the negative reviews of KYGUNCO on the Bardstown Better Business Bureau (BBB) website. [https://www.bbb.org/us/ky/bardstown/profile/gunsmiths/kentucky-gun-company-0402-7003144/customer-reviews] 10) It's NOT Keene's Depot anymore, that is certain. Instead, KYGUNCO is a wanna-be Walmart superstore pretending to please people and deluding itself into succeeding with their horrible customer service and their smart-mouth racist manager named 'Gabi'. Gabi is emblematic of a generation of X-Y-Z brats who will receive their comeuppance in due time. Patrick Haydon has chosen a sad direction, a downward spiral by keeping her kind in his organization. I doubt that Bill Buckman (former Bardstown Police Chief and Keene's Depot gunsmith) would have tolerated much lip from Gabi. Never again! 11) Not all is rotten at KYGUNCO. At least they have a nice selection of decent soda pops at the checkout lane in real glass bottles! Shocking! Wow! Way to go owner Patrick H.! (See ya!... after my cataract surgery!) read more

They require a delivery signature for ammo and have no way to opt out of that requirement. This is a huge PITA! CYA for them, screw the customer and the inconvenience it causes them. They do have good prices on guns tho read more

This location might be great but I'll never know because of the poor service I was given on the phone I've never spoken to someone as unhelpful as the employee who answered the phone at the desk when I called not only were they completely incapable of answering any of my questions she refused to let me speak to any other employees undoubtedly because the employee didn't want them to know how rude and incompetent she was. I had cash in hand ready to spend it and now there's no way I'm coming here read more

By far the best and most courteous service I've experienced in a long time. If they don't have it, they'll get it...and I don't mind if I have to wait, just because it's nice to buy from a Company that appreciates your business. I always give KY Gun Co the first and last look ! read more

Even though this is miles away from me, I still travel there because they usually have what I need. The place is always organized. And even though you take a chance on running into long lines, they get things moving pretty quick. If you are a hunter, you can bet that what you need will be there. They also have an indoor gun range for target practice. read more

I bought a Keltec Sub2k Gen 3, When I got the carbine there was signs of usage and scratches on it. On the site they were advertising it as new. This is for their online store. Great selection and prices. Quick shipping and communication. Will be making more purchases in the future.

Fast and efficient service. They have a wide selection of firearms far beyond what you find in an ordinary gun shop. I have very selective tastes so this store suits me just fine. They are always competitively priced. read more

Ordered 2 mags and 1 pair of glasses. 1 Pair of glasses shipped, 2 mags were backordered. Fast forward, I totally forgot about checking about those backordered mags. KYGUNCO marked them as shipped and delivered which is TOTAL BS. I have proof that the Fedex tracking number show shipment fact of 0.2lb for 2 mags and 1 pair of glasses... NO WAY - the mags with packaging weight 1lb each. Now they said that they can't do anything about it because it's outside of the 30-day policy of their distributor. Will never order for them again. read more

Don' t show shipping cost until after you charge and its steep. I ordered 3 small mags and it was 13$. Like all would be sent separately

Another recent purchase from KGC :) And as alway could not be happier with the ordering, service and delivery. I got on the email contact list awaiting a restock item and within no time received the message of it was in and now I have it. Cant say enough about the ease of process and especially the attention to keep customers informed. Many other have the process but don't follow thru to let the customer know what they are awaiting is back in stock. Truly appreciate what KGC provides all around. Thanks Three Thumbs UP Thanks Again "KGC" Santa read more

I think these guys are dishonest... or massively incompetent... or both. I placed an online order, had it confirmed but the clownz at this joint told me there was a "glitch" and someone else got MY gun... which I had been waiting for months to buy. Their computer system confirmed MY purchase, yet the gun ended up sold to another? Yeah, and my granny farts Chanel #5!! AVOID these liars. read more

I have ordered a bunch of stuff from KyGunCo over the past year and a half, never had any problems. I use the text-a-check feature for things that go bang, and my orders always ship within 1-2 days, and are at the local shop (a couple of states away) within 2-3 days after that. Super easy, barely an inconvenience. read more

I went in to sell my Canik TP9 Elite Combat in order to buy a more compact handgun. I was told that it was worth around 300 dollars..... after audibly laughing out loud I was then told that they could "probably only sell it for $400". Later on I went on their website only to find that they are selling the exact same gun for $720. This place is greedy as hell and if you aren't gun savvy I hope you do your research before agreeing to a price, whether selling or buying. The guy that was helping me was very polite and courteous and I could tell that he felt guilty having to give me such a horrible offer. His manager told him that horrid price offer. This place is a glorified pawn shop. I will NEVER return. read more

I recently decided to buy a handgun - my first. I quickly became overwhelmed by all the choices. But, after a few weeks of visiting local stores and watching you-tube videos, I decided I wanted a Glock-19-like 9mm. I came across a ranking of such guns which had the SAR 9C right up there with the big names, and the price was great, so I ordered online at KYGUNCO. The gun arrived at the local FFL in about 6 days, and I was very pleased with the transaction. One small issue - the Kygunco listing said it was the Compact model, but listed the barrel length at 4.4 inches. These pieces of info are inconsistent. But I knew it was the compact at 4 inches, and I got what I wanted. Local FFL was already in their database, and only charged me $20! read more

Simply bad ass. Huge selection and decent prices. Not your normal gun store, definitely worth going to it check out.

This was my first time purchasing a firearm online. When I found the gun I wanted from KY Gun at a price cheaper than everyone else, I could not help but make the purchase. When I called them to discuss the gun I spoke to Hunter, he was very polite and helpful which right off the bat helped me in knowing I had made the right choice in gun dealers. My purchase online went as smooth as ice with no issues from the purchase to the shipping and arrival to my chosen FFL dealer. I would highly recommend KY Gun and I will be a continued future customer. Thanks for a great experience! read more

Kygunco.com was the extent of my interaction with this business. Fantastic pricing during a tough time to get ammo. Someone named Jim K. Complained that his order didn't go right on 5/20/2020. I have bought from them before and I will be buying more from them in the future. KYGUNCO has a quick service and I love the fact that I can pay via check by text. I wish everyone would adopt something like that to make it easier on the buyer. customer service is very good and friendly which I could rate 5 stars but shipping is terrible. I called to check status on my order and had to re-send the FFL. they verified receipt of all my documents and email but had not put the order in to ship for some reason. so far its been 14 days and no shipping notice. told it may not ship until next week. I placed a similar order for a firearm With Reeds Family Outdoors and was actually surprised at how fast it arrived. They were excellent to deal with. I'm not feeling too good right now about KY Gun Co. although their price on the item was quite good. read more
