I worked with Steven Brown during my OPT denial in November due to my DSO mistake at school. I was…read moreextremely lucky to reach out to him by chance and very timely as it was the first week of my denial notice. I was very disappointed with my school not cooperating about the mistake and feeling alone in this situation. He was so well informed about the details of regulations, always helpful to you like a family member more than a client, trying to work it for you, and ALWAYS quickly responding with a detailed response to your questions. During my consultation period, I had a chance to speak with around 7-8 immigration attorneys, consulted with 4.  I had a chance to differentiate the people doing their job for only charging every minute without a genuine intention to help your case, more like taking advantage of your frustration. He was the first one to mention an extension on deadline by USCIS to me. I was thinking I had only three weeks to mail the document, then he mentioned there is a two month extension, and he was the first one of only two attorneys mentioning this to me. With this, I had a chance to file my case more attentively. Even my own school employee did not pay attention for me to submit it on time, and they sent the university letter only two days before USCIS was initially supposed to receive it. I was really disappointed with my school but Mr. Brown helped me to stay on track to do the necessary steps for saving my OPT.  He also always reminded me filing it ASAP is still a key in terms of processing times. Also, he was one of the attorneys always responding to my clarification questions in detail, other attorneys always told me I had to make another consultation appointment to get an answer for it. The funny part, those other attorneys were Turkish like me. Immigration issues are really sensitive and tempting for some attorneys because it is very easy to get wrong legal advice and easy for them to pretend they are competent about similar cases to yours. You are depending on the interpretation and advice of attorneys since the communication with USCIS and you are. It is very easy for someone to scare you with high stakes and pretend they are knowledgeable to charge you higher than the cost itself with an incompetent result and an another same denial. Also, there might be alternative/indirect ways to solve it (than USCIS mentioned in their letter) and your attorney can tell you about those methods if they have enough experience. I confidently recommend Steven Brown for consulting your case for student visas, not just as an attorney, also as a true supporter of good results for you. Thank you so much once again for both professionally helping and also psychologically supporting me during this period!

I strongly do not recommend Zhang & Associates, PC…read more I was one of the clients of Zhang & Associates, PC, from 2015. If I knew about the firm's policy, I would have not ever trust the firm in the beginning. I would like to inform other people to know what happened to me before making their naive decision to trust this firm. I applied for I-140 and I-485 with the assistance of Mr. Lawrence Victor Bush (one of the partners of the said firm). My I-140 was temporarily approved in 2016 and was asked to pay the second payment by the firm. Then, after 2 years, I got a revocation letter for my approval NIW and my case got denied after all. Since my NIW is denied now, I strongly believe that I should not have paid the Second payment at that time! and It was an unjustified payment as the approval wasn't final, according to my contract "Once the immigration petition (I-140) is approved directly by the USCIS, Client must immediately pay the flat approval fee of non-refundable Two Thousand and Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00) to Attorney." Therefore, I really believe I should get the amount of second payment fully back. But, the firm said my NIW case was approved by the USCIS. It was the USCIS that changed its position and revoked my NIW approval. Therefore, they don't pay back my second payment. However, when I am looking back to my case, I can see how the firm has worked unprofessionally for my case because of the following reasons: 1) I got REF because the firm' lawyer had forgotten to require and submit my original document. They also charged me $500 for REF and it costs me a few months delay in processing my cases. 2) The firm charged me for responding to NOIR for $3600, while I know from my friends that other firms haven't charged them for responding to NOIR. 3) The firm charged me for TEMPORARY APPROVAL (not final approval) as described above. 4) In opposite of my contract, the firm didn't pay back my money after getting denial letter for my I-140. The lawyer said it is not really a policy of the firm to withhold such funds in the event of revocation as such revocations have not really occurred until the past year. This is another proof that the firm is unprofessional, untrustful, unreliable, and unsupportive.

I hired Attorney Gladys Daniels for my divorce case, and it has been one of the most frustrating,…read moredisappointing, and unprofessional experiences I've ever dealt with. From the beginning, there was a complete lack of communication and follow-through. I was repeatedly left in the dark about my case status and often had to reach out multiple times just to get basic updates. At one point, a week before Thanksgiving, the attorney called me upset because I had been asking for updates--then claimed she had sent an email about needing a newspaper for service by publication. When I mentioned I'd look for the email, she backtracked and admitted it was never sent and asked for forgiveness. That alone made me question the honesty of the firm. Her paralegal Jazmine was also incredibly unprofessional. After I gave her all the information she needed for the newspaper, she failed to follow through. Then later that same day, after I made contact with the newspaper and told her I had already contacted the newspaper myself Jazmine asked me *not to tell the attorney* because she was afraid she'd get in trouble. Court was set for 4/14/25, and at 9:37 a.m.--just 23 minutes before the 10 a.m. hearing--I received a call from an attorney I had never spoken to. She informed me she would be representing me in place of Attorney Daniels and admitted she wasn't familiar with my case. She was asking last-minute questions about documents that should've been long submitted. To make matters worse, I paid in full at the start and was assured my divorce would be finalized within 3 months. It's now about to be a full year, and not only is my case unresolved, but a month before my next court date, I received an email on Friday 5/30/25 at 5:23 p.m. saying that the attorney was withdrawing from my case. Despite all their mishandling of my case and the lack of professionalism, I was still willing to pay additional fees just to ensure I had proper legal representation and could finally get this divorce finalized. That offer was ignored--and instead, they just dropped me right before my hearing. This firm constantly miscommunicated internally, missed deadlines, and handled my very personal and serious situation with extreme negligence. I do not recommend this law firm to anyone, especially if you are going through something traumatic and need reliable, compassionate, and professional legal support. If I could give 0 stars I would. I will be filing a grievance and be reporting to the Texas state bar.

The staff was disrespectful and unprofessional, with the owner, Gladys, even telling me to 'shut up' when I was simply trying to inform her about missing records of three months' worth of payments (presents) for my son during a period when we were not yet going through the court system. To make matters worse, during a court Zoom meeting, the owner herself laughed at me, despite the fact that I had paid for their services and was in desperate need of their help. If you're considering this firm for any case involving child custody, especially if you're a father, I strongly advise against it. You'll thank me later. God bless.
