Pad thai was my favorite and I'm a pad thai nazi. Its seriously done well here. Its just that this restaurant charges for any kind of meat. Why not just put a base protein and up charge for premium meat. It seems misleading. Like an instant upsell. Other than that. This place is good. read more

Service - the server is so kind and friendly. I feel very welcome! Thai coffee - YUM. Exactly what I hoped for. My only wish is that the cup was bigger. Because it's so good, I feel like I'll finish it really quick. I also like to see my drink, but they have an interesting silver mug. Totally a personal preference though. Kwan pad Thai - their version of pad Thai with shrimp and crispy pork belly. I have to be honest and say the pork belly was a bit on the drier side for me. Maybe they're going for a light, crispy pork belly? The pad Thai itself was good though. Just a heads up for those who are queasy about fishy things, this plate comes with tiny little dried shrimps and it was too much for me so I had to push it to the side. Kwan's Kitchen, in its soft opening phase, has a charming small restaurant that offers a glimpse into its kitchen. The staff is friendly and attentive. Beware of the slight slope at the entrance, I tripped on it.... Twice. While some dishes like the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were a bit lackluster, the stir-frying was well done. The chicken in the dishes tended to be on the dry side but still edible. The Tom Yum soup had a good balance of sour and spicy flavors, although the chicken could have been moister. My go-to, the Krapow, was a pleasant surprise. It looked amazing!! I also asked for extra spicy and extra basil and they delivered. The over-easy egg on top was a delightful touch. Though a bit on the salty side, the taste was excellent. It could benefit from adding actual chilis to the dish. Both the food and the service are superior here. I ordered low sugar Pad Thai, Yellow Curry with Tofu, steamed dumplings, and egg rolls. I sampled them all, and amazing, amazing, amazing! Additionally, I picked up an unsweetened iced tea, and it tasted like freshly made tea--excellent! I was waited by June, who is a warm-hearted, respectful person. I really liked the spicy basil (fried) tofu. My favorite of the dishes we tried. We are vegetarian so I can't comment on a lot of the menu items. The rest of the food was good, spring rolls were good, and we ordered green curry, at a level 5, probably should have it ordered it to be spicier, as it wasn't that tasty. I had a few bites of the pad thai and took most of it home . The portions are a good size. Service was friendly, though on the slow side. All the food was delicious and really well seasoned! The fried chicken was moist on the inside and I loved all the sauces provided! The servings were generous (definitely have enough for another meal) and came out really quickly. I'm very disappointed. I've been a regular customer here, coming almost every other day and spending around $20 each visit since I work next door. Today, I originally ordered to-go but changed my mind and asked to dine in. Instead of accommodating me, the staff refused and wouldn't let me sit down although all the tables were empty.As a loyal customer, I expected better treatment. The restaurant was almost empty when we went but it was 3PM so it made sense. Everything was so good and the service was really good as well! We had a whole coconut, Kwan's pad Thai, tom kha, and skewers (forgot the name but it was an appetizer) and they were all so delicious, especially the skewers! Came here for dinner tonight, because of the great reviews. The waiter was very kind and the food was great. The menu is a soft launch menu, so only 2 pages. I order the thai tea which was good, and the pad thai with chicken and the rice dish with spicy fried pork, and egg rolls. Overall the food tasted great, and plenty of seating inside. A small tucked away Thai food with very modernized décor. We bought a to go order so we can't say for sure how the ambiance and service really are, but the food was decent. The menu is short and sweet with not too many options to decide between, but the menu still has certain common favorites to be chosen. In total, we had their Krapow and Pad Se Ew (chicken/fried tofu). Personally, the food was great if I only ate the Krapow. The ground pork and fried egg were decently cooked and flavored adequately. Decent kick (medium spice level) and saltiness to it. Only drawback was the amount of oil used to cook the food which wasn't a preference. The spicy vinegar that came with the item was nice to elevate the flavors even more. A decent portion of food if you aren't starving and satisfying food. For the Pad See Ew, this wasn't the family's favorite in the end. It lacked a lot of the flavors we all commonly expect - the salty and sweet flavors. Although they ordered the items with no spice, we still thought that didn't mean cut back on the soy sauce, oyster sauce, etc. It was nice to have the Gai Lan (Chinese broccoli in it) and they provided a decent amount of it in each container. The fried tofu wasn't much to write home about, but it was decent according to my kid. The chicken was a bit disappointing as it was mostly dried chicken breasts. The wife didn't prefer the lack of flavor on the chicken as well so it was unfortunately more of a miss for her than a hit. But all in all, the food was relatively decent and for my food, it was quite delicious. Albeit a bit more oily than I would like, but worth a try to formulate your own opinions however! read more

Tried this place for the first time, if I didn't type Thai food on Yelp, probably wouldn't have known it was a Thai restaurant by the name. I've been here twice (and its just the soft opening lol). I have got to say it's my new favorite place for Thai! It's the best I have had in awhile. Tastes authentic, not like the majority of Thai restaurants out there. Everything here is fresh and super flavorful! My favorites are the pad see ew, tom kha gai, fried rice, and a steak dish I cant remember the name of. So pretty much everything! Noodles are not soggy and seasoned well. The ground beef is pretty salty and the panag curry just had meat in it. I might hold off on ordering those until they have mastered it. The dishes come out aesthetically pleasing and not too oily. I likes the chewy texture of the pad see ew noodles, but the chicken is more toward the dry side. I also got the pad thai, which was packed with crispy pork, shrimp, and chicken. I liked the noodle to sauce ratio, which coated the noodles evenly to give a salty yet sweet flavor. Some places make the pad Thai too slimy. Lastly, I enjoyed the yellow chicken curry that came with a bowl of white rice. The curry itself was packed with flavor and was not too watery. However, the carrots and potatoes were slightly undercooked and crunchy. Overall, it was a good dining experience for our family of 7. We were disappointed because we came for the soft opening of 30-50% off, but that ended yesterday. The owner did grant us 10% off at least. read more
